All-Season Tires For Stock 17" Sport Wheels

I'm replacing my stock Goodyear RS-A's with another All-Season performance tire, and staying with my stock 17" wheels. What are you guys running, and what are you experiencing as far as wear, traction & road noise? I am seriously considering the Avon M550 Tech tire in a 235/50-17 size, but am open to suggestions. Bang for the buck is important to me!

This has been kicked to death, but please help me!!

I am going to try the Kumho ECSTA ASX 235/50 17's. Specs & reviews look great, and they only cost $106 a tire. Check them out on www.tirerack.com .

OK as in "good"? Or, OK as in "not bad"? How is it on handling, and road noise?

Is the Bridgestone Potenza Pole Position A/S a better tire?

try the falken ziex 512 in 225/50/17 size. good value and more than adequate wet and dry handling. same diameter as stock so no change to speedometer.

I just put on a set of Avon Tech M550 A/S on my '00 300M and they are a big upgrape from the Goodyear Eagle LS I had on. I replaced the factory Goodyears with Michelin Pilots and they were fantasic, but only lasted 26K miles. I put back the factory Goodyears after the Pilots wore out and the car floated on the road, unlike the Pilots that gripped the road! The Avons M550 are a step down from the Michelin Pilots in grip, but at a great savings on price! All I want from these tires is to last 35K miles then I will happy!

Note: My size 225-17-55 were listed on Tire Racks site as "W" rated (as all the M550 were), but they arrived as "Z" rated. I was fine with that!

Handling is decent, road noise is excellent(very quiet) as for the bridgestone potenza i can't really tell you cuz i dont know much about that tire... the only thing was I had potenza's on my old maxima and ended changing them cuz they sucked

i had Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 235/50-17, and they worked great. but they are pricy, so get something cheaper if you want.

I have them as well. Pricey, but worth it.

You might want to look at a set of Toyo proxes TPT, they are an all-season tire.
I put a set on my car, 235/50/17. They have a 65,000 treadwear warranty.

I believe that my car handles just as well as when the oem Turanzas were on it. Turanzas were almost bald at 10,000 miles.

here is a link

http://www.toyo.com/tires/tire_lines/conven_as/tpt.html

Oh, by the way, I paid $507 for the 4 tires with an alignment at TirePros.

STOCK 17's on the g35 comes with 215/55/R17.....i just put 225/50/R17............is this a benefit to me that the numbers changed? what does the numbers changing mean? i got the bridgestone potenza re92 used. road noise is excellent very quiet. handling i dont know yet cuz i have to get a wheel alignment and balance.

I have a set of these. I like them. More traction than I can manage to use in spirited commuting. Comfort and noise are fine, better than the OEM Bridgestone Turanza EL42's. They don't grip as well as my second set of tires (Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3), but then not much does -- the Goodyears didn't last long. Kumho is a great brand for bang-for-the-buck. I've been running these for a year and they're not showing too much wear yet.

Well you got a slightly wider tire with a slightly smaller profile, which are both good IMO.
