Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

May be trading the G in for the FX. Just needing a little more recreation ability.

Any of you G35ers driven the FX35? Any comparisons or would I be buying just another SUV?

My worst fears....take a hit on the G35 and wish I had it back in 6 months.

I've driven 300+ miles on a brand new FX35, the dealer gave it to me as a loaner. It's a nice car, quite, and stable, much less rattles compare to the G35. But no power. I feel slow driving the FX, the G is much more responsive. My wife however like the FX more.

Check with GeoBau, he's got one in his family. I think he's quite impressed.

I drove an FX loaner for a week and really enjoyed it. So much so that it may be our next car.
Since it is based on the G platform, it performs similarly. Great handling and ride, and it was nice being a little elevated going down the road. I thought the pick up was fine. Obviously the extra weight slows it down a little, but you will have no trouble passing vehicles on the freeway and the exhaust note is great. Really liked the fit and finish, too.

Re: Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

I loved my G so much, that my car got a big brother...

Drive a loaded Fx35. Just tell them you want it loaded or else you won't drive it. With the sport suspension, you can almost tell no major discernable difference between the G and FX. It's scary how well that beast performs... The 45 is nice too, but I have to say the ride's a tad on the "jumpy" side, and IMO wasn't worth the additional $$... my dealer agreed. I told them price wasn't really an object, and they still told me to get a 35. I've driven one for the past week while my G was in the shop... it's nice to walk out to your garage and see two of them parked side-by-side.

Just drive one and see for yourself-- you may be surprised Best of luck,

G

I have the exact car with same options (except black on black) as Geobaus above +Nav- It's hard to negotiate a price on it with the kbb not out yet on 2003.5's. Any opinions on the market value with 7K miles? I'm thinking $34,000

Probably less than $34000. I paid little more than that for one like that (no sport package) for a 2004.

Re: Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

Test drove the G35 sedan and fx35 three times.

FX drives a little bouncy for me, do not really like SUV feel and the interior seating room is no bigger than the G35. The added cost (dealer not dealing on them) was another factor.

Power was more than adequite compared to numerous vehicles I tried and the handling was pretty close to the G

IF you like the high up ride then it is a great vehicle

LAst thing I did not like was the orange screen in the center of the dash for non nav cars. Looks cheap IMO. It looked ok with the graphite interior but the nav is the way to go, color screen is nice in this car.

Have a healthy day!

BASE ACURA TLX NOW WANT A G35 AGAIN THOUGH
Re: Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

How come I can never get an FX Loaner from Peninsula Infiniti in Redwood City? Yes Bob and Ron I'm talking about you guys! The service is great but it's time to "giddy up" for FX Loaners! You have everything else. Seriously, I don't want to drive a base version G (nothing personal) cept I have all these extra goodies I paid for like a NAV and Sat radio <eh hem>. I've had the I30 as a loaner....YACK! Too floaty, no pick up, I feel like I'm driving my parent's car...How'd you guys get FX Loaners? They keep telling me they don't have them available yet!

Re: Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

The FX has a nice ride. Pretty comfortable to drive and has pretty nice handling too. I'd go for the 45 if i had the option. We test drove the fx45 many times before buying the m45 for my dad. But then again... the m45 ride simply beats the fx and the G. That beast is FAST.

Re: Anybody driven an FX? What did you think?

The other reason I was considering switching over is due to a major problem infiniti has right now. They have an overstock of 2003 FX's sitting on the lot which is forcing them to hold the 2004's on the ships. Just yesterday when I approached the sales manager about this he looked suprised and said, "How did you know about that?"...Dude...it's called the internet. Anyway I'd be looking at least $800 under invoice!
