Seems to me that what everybody is missing is, the OP`s MAP was crudded up , maybe from K&N filter oil, or whatever. He cleaned it and the G ran better! BFD! If yours is not crudded up, cleaning it is not going to have a lot of impact on your performance. Isn`t that the way it was, or did I have a senior moment and misread the post?

Assuming the G35 MAF uses heated element wires, it sounds to me like Cato accidently broke one when spraying on the cleaner.

I'm with Jeff, I've always cleaned my MAF sensors (ie MAF element wires) with a Q-tip and rubbing alcohol. You just have to be damn careful.

Since I am getting older, my memory is sometimes failing me. I removed the MAF again, sprayed tha snot out of it again and reconnected it again. Reset the computer again without success. Drove around for awhile and parked back in my driveway. Sitting there thinking.....I spied the pedal reset directions by Gordgee folded in the front seat. Sooooooo, I reviewed it and CRAP! I had forgotten to do the second pedal depress after codes were blinked out. Realizing I may have just not done the pedal reset method correctly, I re-did it following Gord's exact instructions. TA DA! No more SES light. So that was much to do about nothing but a F-UP on my part. Sorry for all the confusion. Don't see night and day difference. I would have been better off by not doing this at all, I just scarded the **** ($550) out of myself.

Worked for me

I would have to agree with what RetAF stated earlier. If your MAF is dirty now and you do clean then you will possibly feel a difference. My G was noticebly sluggish when accelerating from a dead stop and noticed hesitation when going WOT on the highway. After cleaning the sensor I got a quicker jump and a smoother acceleration. I dont think that my car is any "faster" I think that it just added a little more responsiveness.

I have a K&N filter as well

I do believe I am seeing a noticable improvement in power after cleaning the MAF! The acceleration seems so much stronger throughout the power band, even at lower rms, this thing takes off like a rocket. After all the drama, I'm glad I did this.

hehe nice. same here. i think it took a little while for my ECU to relearn - i'm happy that the mid-range hesitation is all gone, and yes, WOT acceleration does feel stronger. one of these days i need to redo my G-Tech measurements. last time, with full exhaust mods, i was hitting 60 in right about 5.7 seconds. interesting to see what crawford headers and coupe mid-pipe are doing for me now.

Took me awhile too, but I finally found some at Pep Boys. They had one can left. I can't wait to try it, because I have 50k on my car and I have had the Stillen CAI since day 3 of owning the car. I'm sure there has been some oil transfer from the element from the 3 times I've lubed it.
