Its fairly easy. Just make sure the jack is lowered to the lowest possible setting by turning the "****" at the end of the jack. Slide the jack into the spot in the trunk that it goes and then turn the **** of the jack to raise the jack a little so that it stays in the compartment. Its that simple.

word.. yea that's about what you gotta do.. in case you're lowered you might need to put ramps.. if no ramps are available.. then you can use wooden blocks.. and drive up those so you can place the jack easily underneath.

a even better idea would be to buy a 2 1/2 ton hydrolic jack for about 30-50 bucks.

makes life easier and easier life=safer life.

I put a nasty ding in my car jacking it up with the stock jack (the handle slipped out of my hand)

I had the same problem last weekend. I needed a flashlight to help get it back in, then I needed to turn the **** a little, opening it, and thus wedging it firmly against its surroundings.

The oem jack is a piece of $hit. Make sure when you use it that you chock the wheels. The car can easily roll off the jack.

The OEM jack is for emergency use only. Get a good floor jack and you will never use the jack hidden in the trunk.

That should be the first thing you buy for your garage. Pick one up along with the beer. The stock jack is such a pain to use. If I had to use it I might not even change my own oil...

+1, both for the floor jack and the beer

Wait for a sale at Sears, you can get a decent 2.25-ton floor jack for under $30 - look hard enough and you can get the same jack with 2 stands for that price.

I got 2 of these jacks, one to jack at a side jack point and one to then jack the center point to get both wheels off the ground. Cheapest way to get this accomplished, and it is not as much of a pain as you might think. Anyway, I just keep one of these jacks in the trunk as it does not take up much space. One of the jacks I got came with a plastic case, so it stays put ok.

There's a jack in the trunk??? Seriously, get a good hydraulic floor jack...don't risk yourself and your car by putting it on the stock jack. Like cato said, the stock jack is for emergencies when you're out on the road and get a flat or something. On a side note, if you do get a floor jack, it doesn't quite fit perfectly. You might need to get an adapter for the floor jack if you don't want to bend the metal on the jack point of the car.
