LOL I'll take his word for it because I have no clue. I mainly wanted to address the difference for those who do know (including audiblemayhem) to give a better idea on what works and what doesn't.

^^^Sorry. I just told him I would do a search for him so I did. Honestly I was just trying to do it somewhat quickly and not forget (which is what I would usually do)

I know! I just thought I should give *some* explanation instead of just looking silly.

Frankly I'm surprised he helped at all... I wouldn't blame him for saying F'off! But DaveO is always willing to give an informed opinion - he will only explain if you are willing to understand and listen.

In this case "do it or don't" is pretty gracious. {side note - I wonder if DaveO knew this stupid thread would come up when DaveB asked his rhetoric question?}

But when someone says mod "X" works simply based on principle and technical background, but without any dyno data, it's very hard to accept. I guess I've just been burned WAY too many times by buying into accepted internet claims.

Would you not want a power mod to actually add power? Would you not want proof?
This is total BS because no matter how much dyno data was posted you would go on and on about how the dyno results were flawed or bogus (in fact you already have HERE!)... Geez DaveB can’t you give this a rest?.... You debate EVERYTHING!!!!!

If this was a forum about the first moon walk you would tout a bunch a **** about how it was in a studio and not in space and where's the proof... if this was about a tree falling in a forest you would go on and on about no one was around to hear the sound so where’s the proof... Damn man drive your phucking car and leave the rest alone!

Are you indicating the 2003 mechanical fan was attached to an accessory pulley???... Hmmm weird

I know this much - The Infiniti division of Nissan wasn’t pinching pennies for a damn fan. They put a phucking tampon in my car I don't think they cut corners in the engine compartment to accommodate frivolous **** like that (amoung other things).

It's my understanding that Type I autoboxes work a bit differently, and *some* have exhibited odd behaviors with the torque converter on dynos. It's not uncommon for anything below 4000rpms to be invalid. And I think that's also the cause for the looping artifacts displayed in andy's plots.
true... I have a 274TQ spike on one of my dynos in low RPM (well below 4K though)

This should be posted in about 100 dozen threads... (search DaveB for the ones I'm talking about).

Ummm...the mechancial fan is attacted to a pulley which is then driven by the accessory belt, hence the definition of accessory pulley Need I post a picture? Do you know the difference between an accessory belt and timing belt

Invalid argument. He has a motodyne spacer installed.
