I appreciate your not putting a half ****d system out there just to make money. I was wondering if you considered a single system just to see if gains can be made. I'm sure if you made a good single system with the attributes you are looking for (especially a good sound and little or no drone) alot on here would be interested. I am not an expert, but isn't the true dual mostly good for FI. Most sedan owners (I'm assuming) are N/A and wouldn't care if you made a true dual or a single. Maybe try a poll to see what others want. I myself would be happy with a single system with a good sound.

I never had an aftermarket exhaust on the G. Is what FI saying true? That every single aftermarket system out there up to now has drone? I find that odd because with my SRT8 I tried a system that sounded great but had bad drone(JBA) in same rpm range, (1800-2200) and then swapped it out for a system that also sounded great with no drone (Corsa). That car hasn't been out as long as the G and has much more exhaust noise to tame, but someone quickly came up with it. Surely someone can make one for the G ?

It my understanding is that nearly all of the G systems, have drone at different RPMs or are extremely loud, or both. The trick is to get a good, reasonable, sound, no drone. Now all of this has to be done, while still getting appreciable power increases.

I would check Corsa out. I'm not sure they make V6 apps, but they are very popular with the performance V8 crowds and tuners. Skip Barber has chosen that exhuast as their exhaust mod of choice on the SRT products, and lots of Vette tuners use Corsa as well. Funny thing is, it's one of the only straight through exhausts out there for the SRT, and one of only two that has effectively eliminate drone. There is NO perforations in the mufflers and NO filling, and there are no baffles (Flowmaster style). It's actually straight pipe through the mufflers with a few slits in the front of that interior pipe. I really don't know how they did it......

Didn't see the G on their website, but may be worth giving them a call

I had a little drone with my Borla but not enough to ever bother me. I added high flow cats and it got bad.

The best trick is test pipes and a pair of turbos. Now it's a little deeper and has no drone. It's the best sounding V6 exhaust I have ever heard.

That's sounds like a good solution to me. TT to eliminate the drone....hmmm. I thought I was suppose to turn up the stereo to drown it out?

At 400 horsepower any exhaust is going to sound excellent from the drivers seat.

But it sounds good at any rpm and any gear.
The low rpm (1500-2500) 3rd gear drone is gone.

Chambered mufflers are based on reflection and should give good results, at a performance cost however...though slight. Also, you can't compare how a V8 and our VQ's are together for the same result. Just because a muffler combo can quell a V8 - doesn't at all mean it will work on a V6.

For instance - take the magnaflow Camero muffler - one of the first and only direct swap mufflers for the coupes. It gave nothing but drone and deep deep sound. It took Magnaflow 3 years to bring out their exhaust for the cars, and they re-engineered that muffler to add reflection principles to it for effectiveness. I understand it sounds pretty good, but drones a bit for he coupes after about 750 miles or so when it is mostly seasoned.

The engines in the engines in the sedan put our much more low end pulse than the coupes. The cams are different, and I'm not sure about other issues. Also, the car is longer and it has much more metal in the cab, which is a paradise for drone. The stock resonator, that flat ugly behemuth, is really effective at drowing the drone...but the performance degration of the smaller pipe and the bends they put it through to get it quiet, is what we all have to do without, and try to re-produce in a 'pretty and effective' way.

You lost me here. I haven't seen this reported by anyone ever. How are the cams different between the coupes and sedans? Lift, duration, whats different??

The cams can't be different since the output is the same on the VQ35DE in coupe and sedan versions.
