Have An Idea For Us X Users

ok, well i have tein h tech. now all us x owners know nothing out there for us. now like a mentioned before, when i have 2 people in the back or a loaded trunk, or god forbid both, that back of the car dropps like a bitch and it bounces all over the place. now i was thinking of just swapping out the rear tein springs and putting the rear stocks on but leaving the front on teins. would this b a big issue?

i wouldn't advise doing that because it's a different spring race from the OEM springs and aftermarket.

understand that. but us x users have no choice but to use stock shocks. and the rear shocks cant handle the load. so putting the stock springs back on to stock form.

You can swap out your rear shocks for the ones that fit the RWD Sedan, Coupe or 350z. THe front shocks are the ones that you cant because they are different.

Yeah too bad we can't just buy rear shocks seperate from the fronts. Does anyone know if there is there a way to modify a set of aftermarket shocks so that the front can mount properly? Someone needs to create shocks for the X.

you can buy koni's for the rear seperately. they are a bit expensive $400-500 but are good shocks with a lifetime warranty... i believe. if the fronts are really an issue for you, you can send your stock front struts to koni and have them revalve them with the koni inserts... dont know how much it cost, how long it will take, and what you will do to get around without your struts on your car. you could also just buy the tokico d-specs and just use the rears... almost the same price as just the rear konis.
also, the rear set of a coilover setup for a rwd sedan should fit since everything is the same(i cant guarantee it though). but if the ride height is where you want it to be, it will probably be cheaper to go with one of the options above.

well the front is'nt really a problem. its just the rear. hmm gonna look into the shocks. but $$ isnt really an issue. i might go with coilovers for the rear so i can adjust the height at least. the rear sits a little lower then the front but its not bad at all.

ok, im going for it. now i will be going with either the HKS Hipermax LS coilovers or the Tein Type CS. wich would be the better ones. now i will be leaving in my Tein H techs in the front. just gonna install the rear coilovers.

wow, good luck. let us know how it goes. you should try and pm Gsedan35. he is an expert at this suspension stuff. he could lead you in the right direction. you might think about getting one with the controller in the car so you can adjust tension easily.... ex. you could stiffen it up if you're carrying a load. dont know if it will work with only the rears tho. try pm'ing Gsedan35
