x-mas wheels vs intake

My wife is insisting that I get something for my G for x-mas. So I've been doing a little research on the site and have determined I either want Coup Rim that someone might be selling or the 350Z intake duct, Stillen CAI setup that some like cato and mbarrad have mod their G35.

After reading some post about cato's thread about his stillen, I'm kinda excited to get the 350Z+ then the wheel.

Couple of small questions with your advise...how does this affect warrenties and how hard would this be to install for someone that does not work on cars at all.

TIA

An intake won't affect your warranty. Search the forums for the Magnusson Moss Act and you'll find a few references as to why.

From reading posts about others that have done the intake, it looks like a fairly simple do-it-yourself swapout.

My 350Z duct from Jayson at 800-876-7496 / nissanwholesaleparts.com for about $82.50 was just delivered! Gonna install right after work!

Placed and order for the Stillen High Flow from Paul at AvalonRacing.net ($240 DELIVERED).

The duct sounds like it will only take a few minutes to install...not sure on the High Flow, but it can't be THAT hard.

I'll let you know....-T

Both are easy installs....remove the original airbox and tube then install the z tube then the stillen box. Barring any problems it should take you a little over 1/2 hr to do. Don't forget to reset the ecu for a better performance gains.

The Z tube took all of 7 minutes. The Stillen took me about
1.5 hours, as the MAS connector would not unclip. I had to
remove the entire MAS unit. Mbarrad didn't have the MAS
problem I did, his just unclipped.

Re: x-mas wheels vs intake

basically it comes down to whther you want more performance gains, or more head turns. The coupe rims are preety slick on the sedan, but it would also be around 1 grand for the coupes

Re: x-mas wheels vs intake

With both the Stille CAI, and Z-Tube what kind of HP gain would one realize?

Thanks.

11-15 HP
Stillen dyno'd 11 HP on the sedan with their HiFlow Box.
Don't have any concrete numbers on the combination,
but I suspect there are some gains to be had. Therefore
I say 11-15 HP. A guess?

But I think Stillen also said the same amount of horsepower (~12 IIRC) for their grounding wires..

The coupe rims fit the sedan? I was told that the coupe offset creates tire clearance issues on a sedan.
