Well, the reset procedure definitely works.

But the problem keeps reoccurring - it seems as though my temperature reading is still "getting stuck" at a lower temp. I am having
to do the temp reset procedure quite often if I go from a lower temp to a high temp (like going from a 76 degree garage out to an 86 degree day - today I was stuck on 77 degrees).

Has anybody had this problem and had the dealer correct the problem?

 

I've had the problem occasionally, the dealer didn't solve the problem. I had left a printout with the reset instructions, and it turned out the service tech followed it, then compared the resultant reading with the temperature. Hardly a solution to the problem, since I knew that, when reset, it gave correct readings. It is the occasional time when it goes off on it's own.

On the other hand, it has been months since it has happened.

 

Mine has been very close so far this summer. It is still off a bit at first but my car is black and sits in the sun so it's right for where the sensor is. When I park in the garage it is good.

 

No. The dealer is going to be clueless on complex issues like this unless Infiniti provides them with some guidance or TSB. The only thing a dealer may try is replacing the entire control board, but that will not fix the problem unless Infiniti has updated the software code which they have not likely done. Why? It's too expensive, and the car is getting too old to bother with. The engineering team resources are probably dedicated 100% to new model designs. A 'minor' software bug just won't trip their threshold for pain on an in-service model unless it is something safety-related or if 10,000's customers are complaining.
