Door Lock Question

Had my car for about 2.5 months now, and this has happened twice. I'm wondering if this is the way it was designed or if I need something fixed.

When unlocking the passenger doors remotely at the same time somebody tries to open the door, the lock gets 'stuck'. On other cars, when this happens, I just had to hit unlock again (or lock and unlock), and the door unlocked. On my G35, the lock will not unlock no matter what I try with the automatic lock/unlock either inside with the button or via the remote.

I have to manually push the passenger side door lock to unlock the door.

Anybody else ever see this?

Re: Door Lock Question

Nope...thats kinda weird. I get the lock "stuck" all the time, and all I do is just lock then unlock again from the remote, or just unlock with the button on the inside. I don't think the lock should get jammed like that.
Hope that helps some.

Re: Door Lock Question

This is how mine is also. Tell your passengers to be patient. I know it's hard because everyone is just so anxious to get inside the G35, sit on the leather seating but they at least need to wait until you properly unlock the door.

Re: Door Lock Question

A couple more questions:

1. At any point, do the doors ever lock by themselves? Some Nissans have this feature.
2. When you unlock the trunk (and only the trunk) from the keyfob, does the alarm remain on after you close the trunk?

Re: Door Lock Question

1. If you unlock the doors via the keyfob, after 30 seconds of inactivity, the doors will lock again. It's assuming that you hit it by accident, and thus locks the doors if none have been opened.

2. Yep. After you close the trunk, the alarm remains active.

Thanks, G. Good information.

One other question, what does "GeoBau" mean?

Re: Door Lock Question

That is actually a good feature, plus the having to put some pressure on the trunk release and the panic, on my Ford I was always accidently popping the trunk or setting off the panic!

Re: Door Lock Question

Haha, lot of people ask be about GeoBau since I've had it for so long (12 years) for email, etc. It stands for my name-- George Baumer. Simple, yet boring

Re: Door Lock Question

Nice to meet you, George Baumer. My screen name is not as cryptic.

Wait, you've been emailing for 12 years? That doesn't sound right.

Re: Door Lock Question

I ran a BBS back in the day, and have had AOL since we moved to the US. I was in on the ground floor

Re: Door Lock Question

RSC6789: Thanks for the info.

SHODOG: I'm not sure which post you were replying to. Does your lock remain 'stuck' like mine, or can you just re-unlock it like rsc's?
