I found a clip of a Borla exhaust and it sounded better to me. It sounds close to stock with just a deeper tone. Does anyone know what HP the Borla is claiming on producing.

I remember seeing somewhere the claim was 11-14hp which I don't believe. Stillen claims over 22hp and has shown more like 10-12.

The Borla site does say it has 45% more flow and is 20+lbs lighter. Those are true.

I agree that any exhaust is only good for 10 to 12HP. Do you have to buy ant special brackets when using the Borla exhaust to hang the muffler? I am in a 2006 G35 Sedaan.

I'm not sure. The borla site does not show an exhaust for 06'. It may not be updated or it may not be the same.

Any 06' guys on here with a Borla???

There is a thread on that exhaust from the maker, they will have the best info on it.

I paid ~$780 shipped for my Borla, msrp is $991. I belive the Stillen is around $960.

Thumbs up

I had a stillen on mine (2nd Gen) and from 0-60mph it can be throaty (deeper than an import i.e. hondas) but once i'm cruzin' bout 65-70 or up its pretty quiet. And I spoke to one of the Stillen reps before I bought mines and he highly recommended the 2nd Gen because too many people complained bout the 1st Gen of being too loud! But I compared my G35 to my 2nd Gen Integra and I love how my G sounds much better than my Integ!

Does anyone know what is the % more flow and weight for the Stillen exhaust compared to the stock?

No and I doubt you will find them since Stillen does not post it. I would assume the flow is even better with Stillen and would guess the weight to be close to Borla give or take a few lbs depending on material. If you call Stillen they may be able to give you a weight.

I think you can just compare the area of the stock to the 2 areas of the Stillen. That should give you the 2 flow rates.

You would also need to know the flow rate of the muffler and resonators.

The Stillen muffler is straight through and the resonators are bigger so the limit of flow for the Stillen is the sectional area of the 2 pipes. In general, you just use the section of the diameter to compare pipe flow for exhaust. I know the stock muffler isn't straight through but for the purpose of flow comparison, just use the area of the pipe's section.

i dont know - all the debate is useless. the gains are too little to be concerned with.

I went with the borla because it was lighter - thats it. I also went with it because the Stillen tips look weird (they are slanted down)
