I agree. Their coupe exhaust shows great gains. If it is quiet enough I may switch to it.

One constant in all of this. BACK PRESSURE!
I have a 505 hp/585lb ft of tq in a 65 GTO that I needed to balance with exhaust. Individual Headers down to individual collectors, to "H" pipe (still independent), to individual straight pipes, out of individual mufflers. 3.0 inch. There are charts that are engineered to give an actual size of exhaust that is needed for any engine application. Based on not only HP/Torque, but gearing, intake(cfm/air/fuel etc). Most of what I hear on this forum (wav files etc) seems to point to an exhaust system that is burning fuel post ignition. Great for making noise but not for making power or being fuel conservative.

Borla! Love mine. It can be a tad drone-y under full load (4 people) during acceleration but you can learn how to drive around it by playing with revs.

Edit: Just noticed that someone resurrected this thread lol.

I have a 2005 G35x sedan I might sound really noob but when you guys mean exhaust

system do you mean like just the catback system itself? I was looking to change out my

exhaust system and I heard someone use borla mufflers to do the quad tips. If i wanted

Quad tips do i just get 2 mufflers that are the exact same? Or does a company make a

quad tip system for my sedan already? I am also planning to get megan racing test pipes

but do they add anything besides sound? like HP gains?

It's been done, but it's quite a chore. There is just not much room for the right one. That's why most run "dual" out the left side.

WHOA so reading my old post not sure what I was thinking months ago :P Now my mindset is totally changed so what Im reading here is that the Stillen exhuast is very loud? Well I was in the exhaust compilation and Im not sure if it was gen1 or gen 2 which is louder? Also which will give me the biggest hp gains? I was looking at the Megan racing OE-RS catback but it comes with muffler and down pipe I believe so im not sure if I will gain any HP from that besides just sound. I do love the sound of the Megan catback and some say that one of the stillen exhaust is quieter then stock :/
