I work at a title company and if you can give me any info, like names or any addresses I can run his name and addresses to see what I can come up with.

This is why I have never and will never buy anything off a forum or ebay. In the end you're just dealing with a person you don't know. I only buy small stuff from Amazon who handles disputes quickly. I can't understand how these internet scammers find so many people to trust them.

if you used a CC, I find that when paypal turns their back on you, go to your CC company. paypal eventually sticks the bill to the seller as long as your argument is valid. Fraud is VERY valid.

I've been through this exact situation before, but was only for $200.

Wait 2-3 weeks and if it is not resolved, file a BBB complaint. Paypal will respond within 1 day. If that does not resolve it, you can tell your CC company that you tried your best and usually they will help you from there.

It took me about a month to recover funds from Paypal, I had to file BBB, but they resolved it fast after that.

The key here is patience. I know it sucks but life is like that. do your best to get evidence (ie transaction post, paypal receipt)

also, paypal wasnt helpful in releasing any information to me. but I had the seller's address listed on paypal. I went to a phone directory and found the seller's number...

if the person used usps mail and you tried to remediate this over a 2-3 week period you can turn the information over to the post office.

best of luck to you recovering funds ttrank!

Seems like these situations are happening a lot lately. Sorry to hear it, I hope it works out.

It really sucks when scumbags ruin things for the rest of us. This forum is a great resource for finding new/used items often at a discount. However, anymore you just don't know who to trust. Fortunately, all the people I have dealt with have been top notch (knock on wood).

I'm sorry to hear what happened bro. I'm more discouraged to hear that the admins have not stepped up and helped you. I believe to post in the marketplace you have be a paying member or just pay a one time fee. Which means there has to be some kind of credit card and email trail they can dig up. I would insist on it.

-always save the threads you have a transaction on for your own record.

-don't dispute through paypal. they're useless for that. Go through your CC company. Send them all your receipts, e-mails, etc etc when they request. They should take care of it for you quick and easy.

Sorry to hear that happened to you ttrank. I know you were really looking forward to getting those. I hope you get this resolved quickly.

I have been trying to sell a set of rims on various sites. Most of the sites require a "minimum" post limit before you can post in their classified section. (15 posts before you can start). This would be a good policy to follow on this site as well. It won't necessarily stop the scammers but at least serve as a good buffer.

Better than nothing

I will see what kind of information I can get from that email address. The name sounds like a complete flake, I don't know any guys named Barbara. I can't stand scamming scumb bags, I like to pay them a visit in person. Ttrank or onefast4doorG35, did you get a phone number from this POS.

p.s.
Anybody know where this *** clown lives other than "The City"?
