I have been trying to sell a set of rims on various sites. Most of the sites require a "minimum" post limit before you can post in their classified section. (15 posts before you can start). This would be a good policy to follow on this site as well. It won't necessarily stop the scammers but at least serve as a good buffer.
Better than nothing

Yeah, I think the minimum post thing is a great idea but the minimum should be a number that someone has to put some effort into before being grated the privilege.
I was looking at some wheels in the marketplace on here and I actually followed up on the sellers previous posts and that weighed heavily on my decision to not buy the wheels.

PayPal support is as worthless as t!ts on a bore hog. I emailed their support nearly 48 hours ago asking them to help me find out if one of their registered users has any disputes filed against him and I have yet to hear a peep out of them.
I also asked for clarification on how to check a registered user and wanted to know more about the buyer protection and so far nada nothing zip zilch.
So my question is, will paying by credit card offer the greater protection others have mentioned in previous threads.

But as far as paypal goes, I heard that unless the product was purchased on ebay, you're pretty much SOL. The buyer's protection protects the buyers on ebay purchases, this is what I've heard. I have had a bad transaction with a seller on ebay sometime ago and paypal was able to resolve it in no time. But I have yet to file a claim with them outside of an ebay purchase.

Yeah I am thinking so as well since paypal hasn't acknowledged my request for information regarding buyers protection for purchases outside of ebay transactions.
Their wording is very vague but does seem to center itself around ebay transactions.
