that sucks hopefully paypal can help ya.

If i buy something big i like to get a his home phone, cell, and company and usually no one has problem giving the info, and then i check online to make sure the name and address match, even with that info nothing is foolproof, but if someone is shaddy usually they don't want to talk on the phone and give you all that info.

You can also ask them to email you an invoice through paypal and I think that usually has more contact info on it than just their email address. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yeah that would help.

A lot of stuff would have helped.
I'm just too trusting when I want something.

Turst me, you're not the only one and certainly won't be the last. Unfortunately I'm just like you and I get taken for granted ALL the time.

if you have a fone number you can do a reverse lookup on whitepages which will give you address and name of person. BUT if its a cell fone number wont work.

For larger purchases over the web I've looked into services such as escrow.com. It will ads expense & time to the transaction but it can also provide some much needed protection on higher dollar transactions. Sometimes just the suggestion of using an Escrow service can cause a scammer to back away from a deal.

I hope you can get something worked out for yourself Tim. Good Luck!

Yeah, I thought about that when I ordered them. I have just had such good luck I was stupid. I was also being cheap. That did not work out very well for me.

Well it has been a while.

Paypal told me they will send me a refund if the guy ever has money in his account again. Right... like that will ever happen.

American Express gave me a refund for now, lets see if it sticks or they take the money back...

i contacted paypal and my bank/credit card company. i've set up disputes with paypal, but my bank/cc will send me dispute information about 10 days later. i do not have his address nor his telephone number... however, the least i can do is get his ip address (hopefully).

well... there are others who also sent money to him. so it looks like we'll tag-team the asscammer and tear him two new ones.

i'll update with further information.... but for now, i must sit back and make sure i do not overcharge with the minus 850. suxxx.
looks like he got this guy too...
