05/06 Clock + Steering wheel buttons in 03/04?

Did a search and the link I found...no one gave an answer too.

Has any body tried to put the following 05/06 parts into their 03/04 interior?

Clock
Steering wheel radio/cruise control buttons

I just took my car in for service and got the 06 loaner and it's been awhile since I've driven one...just refreshed my memory how much better the interior is than the 03/04....the noticeable things that seem to be easily switched are the clock and steering wheel buttons.

I can't measure my car as my car's in the shop....and my loaner the wife has...so I'm screwed to figure this out myself.

clock...dont even try because the whole lcd display has to go with it and im sure you dont have an 05-06 harness maybe you can reroute your current one to work and then you'll 2 clocks...1 being non functional.....and original one not working? just doesnt make any sense to do it...

as far as the steering wheel controls...i thought about it too...the 05-06 light up which is cool...but you might need to get a whole new steering wheel and then risk the fact that there is no harness to draw power to light up the controls..not worth it to me...i know what my buttons do, and i am the only drive thats allowed to touch this baby!!

They don't sell the 05/06 clock separately? I'd imagine that this would a likely option.

As far as the steering wheel buttons, I was hoping the power draw would be something that is easily tapped into...seems you can replace the entire silver covers.

The other things...the illuminated Trunk, and dash light switches in the lower left would be cool to have too.

If the 05/06 steering wheel has the same plug then I would try it. If not it's not worth it IMO.

anyone know the part number for the clock with the longer hand?

My 03 clock light just died, might as well replace it with the better one!

I thought there was a TSB on the old original clock - something about it not being very readible at night. If so, you might qualify for a warranty replacement (even if you're out of warranty). Check with your dealer and be nice to them.

The clock will not fit.

There is a "fix" for the older clock, the dealer did mine a little while back.

There is another thread about changing out the steering wheel. I know you can install a 04 wheel on an 05 but I'm not sure if the 04 has the power for the lights on the harness.

Thanks for the answer Tim (as disappointing as it is). I guess another mod to look forward to is the Guage Cluster swap that WhiteOnWheat is attempting...that will be awesome if he pulls it off.

Yeah if he can pull that off it would be a nice improvement over the older one. I would condsider it for the right price. I can't believe he found one for $200!
