Black Headlights?

Hi,
I really like the look of the black housing in the these headlights, but I was concerned about the temperature of the HIDS affecting the lens. I asked the seller aboutit he told me that they were made for Halogen bulbs. My question is whats the big difference? Can it still work?

No you can't make them fit. The non-HID bulb is not the same. I believe it is an H1.

I painted my housings when I did my S2000 mod; why not just go that way?

go here first :

https://g35driver.com/forums/faq-diy/81380-g35-sedan-headlight-removal-guide-3-simple-steps.html

then when you take your headlights unscrew the three screws that hold the lens and the headlight together then bake them in the oven @ about 200 - 250 for 5- 10 mins. then pry them open now the housing is attached to the lens. Unscrew the screws holding the housing and lens together. Now spraypaint the housing black and make sure you use paint that can withstand high temperatures. once done just reassemble everything and BAM you're done with the satisfaction of doing it yourself.

I plan to black out my headlights and do a retrofit. I have the parts from my previous ride. From my experience with aftermarket blackhousing is that the clear coat on the outside of the lense flakes off. Not sure if these have clear coat on them or not. I would really be more concern with fitment.

just put it back in the oven (so the sealant gets gooey again), take it out and clamp the lens back onto the headlight

I would preheat the oven to 200°-250°, turn it OFF and leave it in there for 5 minutes. I heard from some that didn't turn it OFF and the housing melts.
