Fan Noise

My G35 Sedan 03.5 has been making a loud fan noise after the engine warms up. I took it into the dealer, but of course they didn't hear anything. Anyone else have this issue? I would just like to identify it so I can fix it. Thanks!

If it's just a roaring sound that lasts for a minute or so when you first start the car, it's normal. It's the mechanical fan.

Ahh The Mechanical Fan

The fan noise continues even after it is warmed up. It seems that the warmer the car is, the more it "roars". Is this normal?

Mine does that when its cold. After 3-5 minutes of driving it goes away. Just normal to me.

I thought the 2003.5s came with the electrical fan, only us lucky 2003s have the belt driven one?

I'm very interested in doing the e-fan conversion. Who does it or can do it and how much does it cost?

That would be the only way you would be electric even then doubtful. There's more to the e-fan conversion than just dropping in a fan and a connection or two. I doubt the shop would do that without your consent and then there would be objections from insurance. Look closer.

The coupes don't have mechanical fans.

There is a guy in LA that does the e-fan conversion. It costs about $250-350 in parts and a few hours labor. I'd definitely consider doing it, but the dyno and 1/4 mile results have been inconclusive there I'm not going to waste my time and money.
