What grade of gas do you use????

What grade do you use in your G35's? I noticed when it started geting cold, for 3 days(!), I started hearing the clicking sound of either poor quality gas or low octane. I put a 1/2 tank of premium in and the sound has gone away. I was using regular before.

Should I start puting in "the good stuff" or just mix a 1/2 tank in ever so often? I also noticed since it has been cooler my gas mileage has gone down somewhat, 22 to 20 mpg.

I've only heard a pinging sound once in 3 years with my G35. It was low grade gas, kind of old (I hadn't driven my car much. Only 1400 miles in 3 months, which is why I haven't been back in yet for an oil change).

I'm blaming age of gas more than the octane, since it didn't happen until I was down to about 1/4 tank. Filled up, hasn't repeated.

Using lower octane can trip the knock sensor which will pull (retard) timing which can decrease both power & lower mpg. I only use top tier 93 octane.

Don't be a cheapskate. Put premium gas in your premium car!

For 88,000 miles, I have put in 93 octane with no problems ever. Why drive a super car and feed it crap?

Everytime I see someone write regular or 87, I'm freaking amazed, whyyyyy.

I only use 93 and if higher was offered(in gas stations), I'd use that. I hope the previous owner of my car didn't use regular.. I'd track him down right now!

I have to use 91 or better. Go under that and engine goes boom.

I almost always (95%) use premium and never have had any pinging or other similar noises, even when I had some regular in there. I also have the dreaded winter time gas in CT and mileage seems to go down about 10% or so. I seemed to also get lower mpg's after I put 235-50-17's on, after replacing the oem's

I use nuttin' but premium. Everytime, no exceptions. I don't think you'll ever regret getting premium. Personally I want performance. Your just not gonna get it without using premium. What is it, $0.20 extra per gallon? If I can't afford that then I shouldn't be driving a G.
