Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

Anyone having a problem with the drivers seat? I seem to "sink down" in the seat on the left side, and my thigh rubs against the seat switches (I have the additional up/down switches). Its uncomfortable verging on painful. Im a big guy (6ft 2in, and 220 lbs). I plan on taking it back to the dealer tomorrow, but I was wondering if anyone else had the same problem.

Thanks
John

Re: Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

The seats in my Sedan were quite comfy. In some ways nicer than my Coupe seats.

Re: Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

I like the seats in my G and find them very comfortable. The only minor complaint I have is that I find the lumbar support lever a little too far back and more difficult to pull down than the one I originally had on my 97 Maxima.

Re: Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

I'm 5'9", and initially the switches sometimes bothered me, sometimes didn't. I did have my lower leg getting tired, though. After tilting the front of the seat up to provide thigh support, everything seems fine now. It would be nice if the seat could go lower about another 1-1/2", so I could see under the rear-view mirror without having to slouch. I have that problem in the Grand Cherokee, too. My seat is comfortable now, though. I like being able to adjust the passenger seat occassionally, when someone leaves it in an odd position. I think a better place for the controls would be on the center console, though. I recall a 91 Pontiac Grand Prix that put the seat controls there.

This topic has been covered here and on other NGs as well. I, too, find the seat cushion uncomfortable due to the placement of the controls. Definitely a problem. I'm 5'-10", 150 lbs.

I noticed that the FX seat controls are in the same place... I do not see the seat control placement as a problem... Yes, this has been discussed in great detail for the past 12 months and I have seen a number of "bigger" people post that after playing with the seat position in the G Sedan they found a setting where the controls did not bother them.

Re: Uncomfortable Drivers Seat

I have two complaints about this car, the window rattles which are being fixed, and the stupidly designed front seat. I find the positioning of the controls extermely annoying. So much so that I may sell the car if I can't find a fix. Obviously, I didn't notice it during the test drive. I can't imagine driving this car on a long trip. I am looking into new seats, or possibly having the controls repositioned by a company that does custom seats and things for the handicapped. Controls on the seating surface! Who thought that one up? What a shame in a car that is otherwise so nice.
