So Long, Its Been Good To Know You
Well folks, its has been a most enjoyable year driving my sedan and hanging out on this forum. What an enthusiastic bunch of guys and ladies! Unfortunately, the sedan is no more. It was used as a trade-in on a 1998 C43 AMG - one owner, low mileage, all records, Starmark certified, new tires, etc. Nice car and it has two, not one, real CAIs. Also, the brakes are 13.2" swept diameter front and 11.8" swept diameter rear. The G was the best car I had driven until the AMG came along. Reviews of the AMG are on edmunds.com's used car section. Good luck to all of you and Gya later.
BTW, since it was a trade-in I removed some goodies (HKS Sport exhaust, under floor covers, Z-tube, ground wires) and they are for sale. Go to Parts/Accessories.

Good to know ya-- if you were going to leave a G for another car, that'd be one of the ones! Enjoy your new baby, and stop by to give us a review or two!

Haha, Hey bro, It's been nice having you around bro, please do drop by now and then and update us on the AMG. Nice ride too, we'll all be interested in your views on it.
Your membership is intact bro, no worries, so stay in touch for sure.
G/L Dan, you'll always be a fellow G, and who knows, maybe you'll own another sometime down the road...........

Nice find with the C43! Just like the owners that leave for an Audi or something of that caliber, excellent choice...Can't say anything bad about such a great find and such a nice ride...

In my experience, the trade-in value depends on where you take the car.
The first stop was at a reputable lease return reseller to look at 2000 and 2001 Boxsters. They buy their cars, lease returns, from Porsche's leasing company. They said they would give me the edmunds.com trade-in value less their cost to prep the G35 for sale, $28,000. My leather AT sedan has only two options: sport suspension and moonroof.
The M-B dealer from whom I bought the AMG told me that they would not sell the G35 on their lot but would sell it to an Infiniti dealer. They called the local Infiniti dealer who said they would take the G35 for $25,000, so that was the trade-in value.
BTW, after we drove several Boxsters my wife said "is that all there is"? I had to agree with her. It was not that thrilling. OTOH, the AMG came with much more. The AMG was $27,500 while the Boxsters were $31,000-$32,000, so in a sense I did not loose on the lower trade-in value.
