Exhaust problems :(

Hey guys. My pop has an '03 G35 sedan. Not long ago, he ran over some metal object on a street at night, bending one of his wheels and tearing up his exhaust. Since then, he has replaced both the wheel and exhaust. I noticed the other day that exhaust was coming out of only one of the exhaust pipes and not both like it use to. What do you guys think it could be? Any help would be appreciated. I know you guys would like some pics, so here they are :

And, my car, if you care

Sorry for the bad pics

Did he replace the muffler with an oem unit or knockoff?

If it's an oem muffler, it's normal. I think it's called a variable muffler, the 2nd tip opens up at higher rpms.

It's OEM. So this is normal then? I noticed it when the car was just warming up in the garage and the same thing happened when we took it to the dealer. They stuck something in the pipe where the exhaust was coming out of and the exhaust began to come out of the pipe that was not giving out exhaust. This was just a test while the car was running, so it was removed.

Edit: If it makes a difference, the exhaust pipe that seemed closed an wasn't allowing exhaust to come out was the passenger side one (one on the right hand side). My dad said that the dude at Infiniti that they talked to said it should be coming out of both.

Yeah, I was trying to talk him into it. I'm trying to get him to get some coilovers to get rid of the wheel gap.
