Reset ECU

what the deal with reseting the ECU? what does it do for a A/T? I have a 04 A/T thanks for the info

Resetting the ECU will sharpen your A/T shifting, but only if you granny the car a lot. If you drive fairly aggressively then the transmission's learning algorithm will learn and maintain aggressive shifting too.
Try a reset and see what difference it makes.

how do you know it does that what proof does everybody have that it has?

Hard to prove. Only way to tell is in the 'seat of the pants'.
If the car has been 'grannied' for a long time, and the ECU is reset, you'll notice a big difference.
