Could the G35 take a Mustang GT in a race? I know it can take the V6 Mustang. I also know that the Mach1 and Cobra could take the G35 in a race so I want to know if it can take a Mustang GT.

 

this question has already been asked.. by me actually.. you can do a search and find your answer..
some tend to think the gt would win, but not by much.. in short distances races anyway.. long distance would be very close.. they're comparable when it comes to HP.. but the mustang has a bit more torque, which gives it a good advantage at the beginning.. of course.. the mustang is a classic american muscle car, so is probably a bit weightier than the g, which would pose as a disadvantage in the long run..

Performance Comparisons

 

A 98 Mustang GT makes 225hp/290lb-ft from it's 4.6L V8.
In 99 they went to 260hp/300lb-ft and the newer body style.

So, if you're gonna race a GT, go for the older body styles.

We rented a convertible on a vacation in Hawaii. It was a Mustang. It was also the bright red, which is exactly the color I like least. But I was driving a convertible in Hawaii for a week.. and nothing else mattered. [img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img]

It's not a bad car. Cramped back seat, small trunk. Same reasons I got a G35 over a 330i. Oh, there's one other thing about Mustangs that you have to be careful of... it's a Ford.

lol, my old '99 V6 mustang could easily beat a pre99 mustang gt, and all it had was exhaust, gears, cai, shift kit........so a g35c would STOMP on a pre99 GT.......i would venture to say that against a 99+, it all depends on the driver of the GT- if they're good, they can run 13.7 STOCK.(that's with perfect launch and perfect timing)......but generally seem to run like 14-14.6 stock....so a g35c has a chance
