Stiff suspention for Sedan

How can one go about making sedan's suspention stiffer so that the handling of the sedan is like coupe ? Is there any rear sway bar available?

Handle like the coupe, huh? The sedan with sport uses spring rates and strut valving that is hardly different, sway bars are the exact same parts to, even the same as the 350Z. Where you do indeed have a difference is that the coupe rides lower, 1 inch lower. But that lowered center of gravity only does so much. The system that is truely different are the struts used on the 350Z,......BUT!!!, the ride quality goes the other direction in livability. But using the 350Z suspension on the sedan is a significant upgrade in performance driving terms, definately stiffer. Here is my review of them.

Now, what are your other options. You could do a sway bar upgrade. But based on my experience when people ask their questions like you have, their best served by sorting out the springs and struts first, then moving to sway bars in that order. Do you have the sedan with or without the sport suspension, I wasn't able to find out when I clicked on your user profile?

Re: Stiff suspension for Sedan
Gsedan35... what are your thoughts on the combination for a sedan with factory sport suspension? I also have the Eibach springs....
I find the ride is pretty stiff, but not uncomfortable. I would like to control body roll just a little more, though.
Thanks, Ted

GSedan35,
Did you use the 350z struts too, or just the springs? Did you have any camber problems/issues after installing the 350z springs?
Thanks,

Koni has finished the R&D work on their sport struts/shocks for the 350Z, same application will be for the G35. Their ETA will be within 3 months or sooner. They are single adjustable for rebound and are designed to have a little less "edge" vs the stock oem 350Z units. Tokico is in the final stages themselves of introducing what they call a D-spec shock as well, it holds the most promise for what I'm after and will have 45 way adjustablity(not sure how it can be adjusted 45 ways, but ok). The tokico web site says ETA winter 03/04 (04 meaning as sometime in the new year, but not quite spring).

Well, I certainly wouldn't recommend to install lowering springs on a non sport. For what I want out of my car, I knew in advance that progressive lowering springs were not in the cards. But that's not to say that the priorities of others can't be different or well served by them. On your comments about body roll. Even on the 350Z suspension, I had more roll than I was comfortable with. So I went after the stiffest sway bar set I could find. Really, since I want to run about 25% greater spring stiffness eventually, I should have just waited to see what that would have done for roll control. But till that happens, I'm very happy with my Cusco sway bars. The Eibach bars are a great value for the money and give you a rear bar that can be adjusted, www.gruppe-s.com has a unadvertised special (not shown on the web site) on them right now, $309 The ultimate bar set would be the EVO350 bar set, expensive though.

I'm running the 350Z spirngs and struts. I knew from my no hole's barred 350Z test drive that the Z's struts were allot different than the coupes or sedans struts, so I had to have them. Besides, at the time I didn't know for sure if the Z's spring rates were stiffer or not.
On the camber question. I put off checking the camber for the longest time. I'd eyeball the car and say to myself, yeah I gotta get the the camber adjusted. Well the time finally came where I bought LsdUnique camber arms and traction rods. I installed the camber rods myself, leaving the traction rods off on a hunch that I wouldn't need them (hunch was right btw). I learned somethings on the alignment rack.
1. I really wasn't to far off on most all the specs, only thing that was odd was a lot of front toe in at .17
2. front camber was -1degree on the left and -1.4 on the right
3. rear camber was -1.7 both sides
4. rear toe in was .92 total
When I was done, I changed the front toe in to Zero, the Max spec for the front. I would have gone with a negitive number. But I wasn't convinced that the machine was showing a negitive or positive number. So rather than dial it the wrong way, I played it safe and went with zero.
The rear camber was set at -1.1 for handling sake
Rear toe in was set at .72 combined
If your interested, I'm sitting on a set of 350Z springs that I bought to use, but the struts ended up comming with their own springs. Don't try them unless you have the sport suspension.
