I've driven in 120 and the needle never moves much above the middle. Check your thermostat also.

You either have air in your coolant line or a clog somewhere.

I'm guessing it's low coolant or your therostat is busted, or your driving 150 MPH for a long time

that happened to me a few weeks ago. i had to pull over cause it was starting to go into the red zone. popped the hood, found out the coolant was boiling. Checked all the places i parked and there was no leak. no coolant leaks in the hoses.. it was CRAZY hot the past few days though and had the AC blasting non stop. checked my coolant and i had to add a full GALLON to it before it filled back up to normal. thank god when i started overheating, i was only 5 blocks away from a Kragen =P

I regularly drive when it is over 100deg, 75-80 mph, and mine is pegged right in the middle. Even with air on. The only thing that happens when I drive a distance in the heat is my TPM light likes to turn on.

that happened to my frontier i checked the coolant overflow bone dry let it cool radiator half empty nissans must lose coolant to evaporation in hot summer months.

My Integra did that a lot.

If there isn't a leak or low coolant, your thermo is on the way out. Get that replaced ASAP.

Actually I think leaving your A/C on should help with overheating because it's forcing the fan to blow. Not sure how many fans these cars have, but I'm sure it's two? Make sure both are working properly. Then as everyone else said, check coolant and next the thermostat. Good luck.

Did you check your coolant level yet? If you have to add a bunch make sure and clear the line of water via the plug on the back pass side of the motor. If you have air in there it will do that.
