The Borla Catback G35X Lives!!

It has been a painful journey, starting with the joke of an exhaust that was sent to me initially

https://g35driver.com/forums/intake-exhaust/153524-take-look.html

Then after waiting 2 months to get a replacement system, I learn that the Borla catback exhaust does not fit the G35X, even tho Borla's website said it did (I made them take it off.)

But the one thing that always holds up is A.) Keep searching g35driver.com and you will find your solution, and B.) Throw $$ at the problem...
So I refused to take NO for an answer.

I want to thank whoever posted this excellent photo collection of the Stillen Gen 2 Exhaust, because I took these pictures http://codeflux.smugmug.com/gallery/1177492#55032416

and sent them to the fine folks at Lou's Custom Exhaust in North Redding, MA. Lou's did a very impressive job of mimicing the exhaust twists and turns that I sent them. I just had to have the Borla because I loved the sound.

The best part after the fact it is the power gains. I am overly impressed at the increases that have been felt by the butt dyno and plan to get my ECU reflashed by AAM to make this car really pull as soon as I can.

I am very happy to have this exhaust mod bug behind me.

So did you start with a Borla system and have it modified or did you have a custom setup made with Borla mufflers. Either way it looks good.

Modified the Borla system. Baiscally had to copy the Stillen G2 for the right side pipe so it would curve over the sway bar and then around the rear end.
Thanks.

Looks good man, I would love to get together some time and take a listen / drive see how it compares to what I have now. I'm probably not too far from you.

I am thinking of getting the Borla system fro my G after I install the Stillen CAI. Although I have a '06 RWD sedan, which the Borla system fits on without any mod except I have to get a hanger from a 03-04.

The system was from Borladirect.com for a little over $700.

Thanks again for the movie/sound files. Was a big reason for the purchase.

Yeah I still love mine!

I might sell it this summer if I can come up with enough $ to make a custom 3" kit but that will only happen if I can also build my motor.

I took a look at the sight they are advertising $794.00 that's slightly cheaper than what I've found on eBay.

They were very helpful with the bad exhaust I got initially. I have seen the prices move around a lot on their site though. They drop ship from other suppliers, so you get it fairly fast. I wish I could get that front lip on my car (yours looks great,) but it would end up being a plow in Massachusetts.
