Question 245 tires + z/coupe springs = rubadubdub?

Hey peeps.

I've been digging through forum searches for a while and I've yet to find a clear answer on this one, hopefully you can help. I'm about to drop my 05 sedan (sport model w/OEM 18" wheels) with the z/coupe spring combo and some d-specs. My stock tires are in dire need of replacement and the tires I've to decided to replace them with (General UHP's) don't come in the wanked 235/45 OEM size.

My question is this - If move up to 245/40 tires on the stock wheels and drop the car with the z/coupe springs, will I risk any rubbing? (i suspect 245/45 would look too "tall" and risk rubbing further) Have any of you implemented this combo?

You will not rub with 245/40 tires. I ran the same setup on my car.

i have a set of 245/45 that i got a great deal on that i am mounting on 18" OZ wheels this weekend. i dropped it a few weekends back on z springs all around. it appears that there will still be plenty of room/gap that rubbing will not be an issue. i will report back if otherwise is proven.

Depends on the offset, but since your using the stock 18"s, it will not rub with it's conservative offset.

+1, it wont rub unless you're running that size on something like coupe 18's with they're +30 offset on an 8" wide wheel.

what would be your initial thoughts of a 35 offset on an 8" wheel?

I have 245/45/17 on 17x8 +35 wheels, dropped a tad over an inch and not in danger of rubbing at all.

I have the 245/40 tires in the General UHP's with the Z/Coupe spring set-up for a 1 inch drop. You will be fine. I love the tires espically for the price.

The offsets are key. Here are my 245-45-18 General UHP's on 18x8 rims with same drop as you. No rubbing, but close.
