Engine Problem?

Today I was driving and I came up to a light in heavy traffic. Light turns green so I start letting the clutch out and it felt like I had it in 3rd gear. I look down at my gauges and they were all lit up. Car went into limp mode and would not go over 1200rpm. I almost go in a accident trying to get over, I had no power, just barely rolling at 1mph. I managed to pull into a parking lot where I turned the car off and back on and it was fine.

Anyone know what caused this to happen? I was so pissed off at my car, I couldn't believe it just broke down like that in the middle of the road.

take it to the dealer - could be a throttle body issue.

Search around, this happened to several people, there's a thread somewhere. TB was discussed.

I had the same thing happen to me the other day. My service engine light came on, VDC and SLIP light came on. This is the message I got when I had my car scanned "P2135 Wrong TP Sensor Signal Voltage" Went to the dealer and they replaced it under warrenty.

I had similar issue , first service engine soon light came on and then SLIP, VDC AND Service engine light came on together and car would barely move, took it to the dealer and they replaced throttle body sensor , BTW this was the 2nd time they replaced the same sensor

I have had that problem once but it was because I had race tires on my rears and oem size tires up front. The car would think it was in a slip and was trying to recover until I turned off the VDC.

This is obviously not your problem.

I would look into the TB issue. It seems to be the most popular reason for this I have seen on the forum.

is it under warranty - the car? if so and if the part is under warranty make them give you a loaner and take that on a road trip. nothing like a g37s for a road trip.
