Update dealer replaced the whole top finisher and it looks like new now. Also, cuz they messed up ordering my horn and finisher - took them 60 days when due to lack of communication they had the parts in the warehouse.

They even replaced the BOSE plastic face for free. I had this part with me but they put their own (mine didnt have the BOSE logo)

Dealer just called me back and they are replacing the trim piece as well. They are overnighting it along with a new seat frame for creaking as outlined in the tsb along with a new valvebody for the transmission which also had a tsb for shuddering. They hope to have it all wrapped by the end of the day tomorrow. That exceeds the expectations I had.

Are the dealers offering any explanation as to the cause of the discoloration?

yeah - its the heat from the cigarette lighter and very rare problem... thats it.

my service guy said the same so im going to hardwire my radar and see if the issue comes back. even with nothing plugged in the lighter, the stereo puts off some serious heat that you can feel in the trim.

mines getting replaced next week..

what do we do when warranty ends? live with brown trim?? i think not...
