Anyone out there know?
At Infiniti of Willow Grove, PA, the price difference (to the customer) between the BG stuff and the Matic-J fluid is about $2 per quart. The price difference represents about 11% of te cost of the job.

When discussing the price difference with the Service Manager, I told him if that's the sole reason for using the BG stuff over the Matic-J, then they should leave the choice up to the customer.

BTW gwhiz35, not that it relates to the topic at hand, but at 42,700 miles doesn't it seem kinda early to flush the tranny fluid? IIRC, every 30K miles with J-matic fluid refill/flush is reasonable maintenance for the transmission.
There is no specified inteval in my owners manual for flushing the transmission. All it says is check and top off. IMO 3yrs/36k miles is too soon for a flush on these cars.

I've had it new for five years and it is driven gently. I changed it based on on time rather than mileage or usage.

You're right, I think the flushing gimo takes a 3-gallon load.

The service breaks down roughly like this:

1 hr shop labor at $99
1 flushing kit at $25
1 3-gal jug-o-fluid at $95

Plus sales tax of course.

Just FYI, Castrol Import Multi-Car ATF ($3.99 per qt at Pep Boys) now approved for Matic-J applications.

It's right there on the back label.

What's to whhhhhhhhhhhhhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa about?

Castrol MultiCar Import ATF says right on the back label that it is designed for Nissans/Infinitis using Matic-J.

At the moment, it's the only ATF at PepBoys that says it is OK for cars needing Matic-J.
