Thanks TT,

I'm getting better at the bondo, but still getting bubbles. Not sure why, anyone now how to weed them out?

that's going to be one heavy box.

I'm not a pro or anything I have not worked on sub boxes before but I know a fiberglass like a back of my hand. I have worked with it for loooooooooooong time.

I think you should have used a material to wrap the box and then spread the fiber glass on it. that way you would have kept a nicer shape to the box and used less bondo.

But still looks great.
Props for great work

I did, but I tried to use something (like a thin foam) on the inside of the fabric to stabilize the shape and it ended up crumpling. That's why I have those ripples. So, when I do the other side I won't use that crap.

Edit: the box is still pretty light (at least without the sub in it )
At first I wasn't going to use wood as the bottom base (to save weight), but then I started to worry about it being top heavy.

I like rage gold better than bondo. it sands much better.

Are you going for a painted finish? or are you carpeting/vinyling the exterior? normally, you wouldn't want to use that much bondo.....especially if you are doing it for strenghth.

Current state.
Primed and tested. Sounds pretty good. Looks like I achieved my goal of tuning to 35hz. Now I need to find a bolt that will hold this in place. Also need to get some carpet and some carpet adhesive spray. Soon I'll start on the other side.

Edit: I also have a few air leaks through the sub hole and terminal block hole. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this, or will the carpet be good?

No program, just measured. I got the cubic feet to port length x port size off of a web page. When I get to my other computer, I'll post the link.

Here is the website that I was able to calculate the port length. They have all kinds of calculators on that page.

Nice work. Is that regular old blue painters tape? Also, did you stick the tape directly to the carpeted trunk liner panel?

I have been considering a spare tire well sub enclosure out of fiberglass. I did one a long time ago, but used plastic sheeting as a bond breaker. Worked OK but was a pain in the behind as it never stayed where you wanted it.

Thanks for the pics.

MrPutzy,
Yup, regular painters tape. I laid 2 layers and then used some liquid carnuba wax on top of the tape, just in case.

Hai,
Most likely. It is in OCT, right?
