Hey psedog looks great but is that port hole aleast 4 inches from you trunk lid? Your sending all the air directly to your trunk lid might cause alot of vibration. Are you gonna wrap it or get it painted?

My guess, either rubber weatherstripping around the holes, or silicone.Originally Posted by psedog
Edit: I also have a few air leaks through the sub hole and terminal block hole. Anyone have any tips on how to fix this, or will the carpet be good?

I'm not sure how far away it is, but there is no rattle at the moment. I have already filled the lid up with expanding foam. This was to get rid of the rattling from my old box. I didn't foam around the lights yet, so those might start to rattle.Originally Posted by seddon

That's what I was thinking. I already used some cheap weatherstripping, but that didn't do it. It helped a little, but it still leaks.Originally Posted by GixxerSteve

I'll probably pick up some silicone next week.

ed will it be done by this meet...i wanna see it done... maybe do this for my car also ^_^
I haven't started on the driver side yet. I had to send one of my subs back to the manufacturer, so I haven't been in a big hurry to do that side. I've been looking for carpet, but I haven't been able to find anything that looks like our carpet. I read somewhere that someone used black carpet and sprayed a light mist of gray on it, to get it to look right. I think I'll give that a shot.
The box is mounted, but it looks pretty much the same as when you saw it two weeks ago at the meet.

For the Drivers side I'm trying something different. I'm using expanding foam to try and make a mold.
I used regular masking tape on the carpet and now that I have pulled it out. I am going to use blue painters tape and use something on that side as the actual mold. Do you guys think that I should use foam again, or Bondo?

Expanding foam? I like that idea. Very unique, have never seen it used that way before. just curious, how many cans of foam did that take?
That was 2 cans of foam.
So about 11 bucks. When I do the inverse side it'll be about 22ish. Definately better than laying several layers of glass while crunched up in the car. Plus the smell that the resin leaves behind.

Alright guys, I'm bringing this one back to life.
I was having issues with my subs and had stopped the project.
Today UPS delivered my motivation.

Here I used bondo on the back of the foam and then I foamed behind the bondo to give it strength.
I have now removed the inner (original) foam and this is what I'm left with.

Yes the foam still looks like a brain or as someone else said, barf.

And here is all the foam that was removed from the inside and it was a pain in the ***.

Here's where I'm at right now.
I have the inner fiberglass done and the the wooden structure. Since this picture I have cleaned up the edges of the fiberglass.
