CD stuck in CD changer

Hi, I have a 2004 G35X. Looks like one of the CDs got stuck and I can't eject any CD or play any CD.

I looked for a tiny hole next to the load button, where I can insert a paper clip and eject the CD. Didn't find one.

What are my options now? Wonder how much the dealer would charge to get the CDs out.

Thanks.

I've heard of people removing the unit themselves and getting the CDs out that way. I had the same problem about 2 months ago and I'm under warranty so I had my wife take it in. I still haven't gotten my CDs back.

ballerina,

Since you have an '04 G, you may still be under basic warranty coverage (unless you're over 60K miles). Your dealer should be able to replace the CD changer under basic warranty. I got mine changed sometime last year under warranty.

Thanks for the tips

I called the dealer after reading your replies and I think I can get this done under warranty. I only have 30k miles on my car.

Appreciate your replies.

So, there's no easy DIY for this then? My warranty just expired. Isn't that lovely.

I got an 03 sedan and had the same problem. I got the car with 43k on it and cd player worked fine for a week, then it broke. So I took it to a local shop, they swapped it for a new cd player. Worked great until last May. This whole summer I would turn on my car and the cd player would click for about 15 seconds and then turn off (got VERY annoying). I had 5 cd's in there so there was no way of getting them out. Good thing I have an ipod because I would swtich to the cd option and it would read error. I took my car to get serviced and they replaced it free of charge under the warrenty. There was a recall in the 03's and 04 cd players. A lot of people have had problems with this. Just take it to the dealer and they should hook you up. I got another cd/radio swap for free!!

If you have cd's in there (which I did). They will send the cd changer out to Cali, get the cd's out, then send them back to the dealership. That's what they are doing at my dealership at least.

i dont think there was a recall on the head unit becuase recall's only pertain to safety related items. most dealerships charge 600-1200 to replace the head unit (including labor) if its out of warranty... at least that what my dealership said.

Yeah I know what you mean. The guy was just telling me that there has been alot of problems with the older generation cd players so they would replace them because of the problem. Oh well, I got mine for free lol
