HELP--> CREAKING!
Re: HELP--> CREAKING!
thanks blueg35,
i guess you were lucky weren't you? maybe i should get my windows tinted, including the front, so all the rattles will go away,
cause they're driving me nuts! and it's so embarassing to have a friend sit in a car that's sooo loud

Re: HELP--> CREAKING!
Hi, b0H. If you and the service tech. have looked at loose trim/foam/panels/etc. and the noise persists, have the service tech. contact Nissan/Infiniti's service people. Some sedans have a couple of panels located, I believe, between the trunk and the rear seat. I was told that these panels should have been welded at the factory but were missed. They chafe against other panels causing a "clunking" noise. They instructed the dealer's service tech. how to repair it and the noise has disappeared for good.

A couple of months after I picked up my sedan, I was hearing a creaking from the rear. I thought it might be ther rear deck. The dealer checked it out and found that the rear seat had to be tightened in place. Problem solved. At the seven month point, I was hearing creaking from what seemed like the tops of both rear passenger doors. Had the dealer check it out at my 15K maint check and they fixed it. They said the screws for the doors were too long and therefore rubbing and had to be replaced with the proper screws. Made little sense to me, but the creaking is gone. Now I'm starting to notice a new one, intermittently, from the rearview mirror or top eyeglass console area. Haven't pinpointed it yet and can't hear it if the windows are open or the radio is on at any volume. Will see if it gets worse. The reported creaks in this car almost kept me from buying it, but figured maybe I'd have better luck. Not to be...and creaks drive me insane. It took my 1988 convertible Camaro years to develop creaks and that was from worn ragtop joints. Ticks me off, but at least the dealer has been able to resolve so far.
I've had mine for 8 months now... various creeks/vibrations/rattles have mostly been minor and have gone away. It seems there will be one in one place and just when I think I need to do something about it, it goes away and another appears somewhere else. I have only had two issues that required me to have the dealer fixed: HU front plastic cover, and read door panel creeks.
My suggestion (for any sound) is to have someone else drive while you identify the exact location. Feel around, press lightly, etc to see if pressure will stop the sound. Once you isolate the problem, give it a few days. Like I said most of mine went away. If it continues, go to the dealer and let them know what the problem is. I strongly advise not to take your car in and say "I've got this strange sound, I'm not exactly sure what it is". You will probably end up without your car longer than you would like and have it returned without the problem corrected. If you identify the exact cause by listening while someone else drives, you can tell the dealer precisely what the problem is and why… they will fix pronto.
Just my two cents - from what worked for me. BTW, my car is perfectly quiet now and has been for quite some time – just the way I like and expect it!
Good luck.

I think I know what creak you are talking about. I have the same problem. I believe it is the rear windows. Mine mainly does it on the rear drivers side. Kind of like a craking noise on sharp turns and accelerating hard from a stand still. If I lower the window and roll it up it will go away, only to return later. I this is the case then there is something loose and should be fixed easily.

Sounds like you have the same problem, if so give the fix a try.
