I'm not a huge guy either. I'm 5'11" and around 205 lbs. But, I do have larger thighs than the average person that is that size - I used to run/hike a ton.
If I sit normal in the seat there is a lot of pressure on my thigh from the controls. I think it was sumed up perfectly in the Uncomfortable Drivers Seat thread by Don1 - "I believe it is more of a function of hip width and thigh diameter more than it is general height".

Well, I'm a WOMAN, only 5' 4" 140 lbs. I have taken several moderately long trips (3 to 4 hours each). Unfortunately, I've found that the seat becomes more intolerable as the trip goes on. Originally, I liked having the seat controls convienently placed on the top of the seat. But it has now become apparent that this is not a good design. Rather than have Infinity buy back my car, I would prefer that Infinity redesign the seat to move the controls off the top of the seat and then have the new seat installed. I LOVE this car and would hope that Infinity would make good on this obvious design flaw.

I too would like a choice other than "Infiniti buyback." How about "Infiniti fix the damn seats so I can enjoy my $35,000 car without daily hip and thigh pain and my right foot going numb!!"
But the truth is if I can't get this REALLY fixed I will be looking to sell/trade when I find something else I like. Life is too damn short to drive around in a car that hurts you, no matter how great it looks or how much fun it is to drive .

I am surprised they haven't moved the controls. I don't have any problem with comfort but I'd rather have the controls hidden on the side of the seat like pretty much every other car..... but if they replaced your drivers seat you'd have one new seat and one old seat... and the color might not match exactly... would you guys be happy with that?

Maybe you don't get the point, alderran. This has nothing, NOTHING to do with vanity. It has to do with the ability to avoid a numb right foot and a constant dull pain in your right thigh on any drive over 30 minutes. Get it?
Plus, if they swapped seats it would only be the base. It would eventually fade to match the other.

Still in the break-in on my 04x but I've had no problems so far (KOW). 5'9" 210 with bad knees.
Actually returned a truck once that gave me knee pains so I feel for the G35 owners with seat problems.

I'm in the same boat RocketsRedGlare, I use a prosthetic right leg, I have driven various vehicles over the years, like a work van or car, and the discomfort for me comes right away, if my leg is at all compromised, it's very hard for me to sit!
