Just bought a 2003 and have questions. Need advice.
I just bought my first Infiniti G35 last week and I went in blind. I don't know very much about the car or typical problems that occur. I test drove a large variety of vehicles and really enjoyed the way the G drives. This is also my first car. I've driven trucks and SUV's from the start so this is a hard transformation.
The G35 is a 2003 dark blue 4 door. excuse my noobness in my questions.
1) I would like to get an intake for the car fisrt and was wondering what the best choice is?
2) I also have a sound system that I would like to put in and I was wondering about the replacement kits that I find on ebay for the aftermarket headunits... Is there a specific company to buy from?
3) Is there an exhaust that sounds deep and smooth for a G35 sedan auto? I don't want something that sounds like a POS beeter.
ALL help is greatly needed and thank you in advance.

1) Everyone seems to go with the Pop Charger/Z-tube combo, which is supposed to give you the best response and performance.
2) dunno
3) I heard the Stillen 1st gen is a good choice. Not too loud, pretty good sound- Skeleton_cru has it, maybe you can PM him....but watch out, he dont take NOOBS nicely! I have an 05 6mt Sedan, I got the Greddy Evo2 and im happy with it.
Since your new & im nice to NOOBS Ill save you the headache here...use the SEARCH to find feedback on all kinds of intakes/exhausts before posting more questions. Do whatever you think fits you best...everyone has their own opinion and what I think is good may not sit well with you or the next person posting an answer so do your research and im sure youll find something you like.
Good Luck! Welcome to the forum!

You should spend some time searching the boards as all of the answers to your questions have been discussed. You are also going to get different answers from different people.
My opinions.
1. There are much gains from an intake so I went with a Z-Tube and K&N filter. There is a noticeable difference in the sound, but that us about it.
2. Some of the vendors sell the Double Din kit that you need.
3. I have a Coupe Midpipe with a HKS muffler. There are lots of people running this and I haven't heard too many complain.

Welcome to the boards.
1. Take your pick on intakes. I use a Z tube (intake tube from a 350Z) and a stock K & N filter. It gives a slight sound improvement, and maybe a couple HP. Most intakes will give little gains, but some people like the Stillen box, or one of the other CAI intakes (AEM, Fujita, etc.).
2. For the sound system you will have to buy a JDM Double Din conversion kit to add an aftermarket radio. This will need to include the new panel (works with non-intergrated radios), the JDM HVAC controls, and few other brackets and misc. parts. You also have the option to keep the factory head unit and run aftermarket amps and speakers. I am not expert on this in the G, so I would search this website. You will find all you need to know and more. The kit is fairly expensive (maybe $200-300)
3. For exhaust, the Stillen probably has the deepest tone, more of a V6-V8 sound. The Borla is similar. Both are true dual exhaust. HKS makes a nice muffler, and when combined with a coupe midpipe, makes a nice sound. Tanabe, Greddy, Fubujitsu make Y-pipe back exhaust and y-pipes. They don't sound quite as deep. Any y-pipe for a coupe or Z will work on the G35 sedan, the stock couple midpipe will work on the sedan, but for aftermarket you will need to use a sedan specific midpipe and muffler section.

Thanks for the advice. It's REALLY HARD to swing from one extreame to the other in vehicles so that's why the stupidity will hang over me for a good month until I get into and understand the car world. lol.
Thanks again.
What I just sold...

What I just bought...

Yea... I'm lost in the world of cars but hopefully I can learn from the forum and enjoy the vehicle. What's the average MPG on the hwy in the sedan?

For some reason, I thought you were a coupe guy?
Glad to see you have a sedan
One small correction....skeleton_cru has the Borla and Stillen Gen 1 is the loudest exhaust you can get for the sedan. Louder than HKS, Borla and Stillen Gen 2. Just some clarification.
For JDub318
Like Realz1 said, everything you might think of asking has most likely been covered numerous times on various threads. Searching before hand is your best bet....post new threads if you have exhausted that resource.
Good luck
1. I went with a Z tube and JWT pop charger, Im happy with the sound, not really sure any more HP, but RPMs faster
2. Went with AVDIC D3 with Metra DD kit, working on new speakers and sub, will repost in about 2 weeks when its done
3. Looking at Stillen Gen 2 or HKS with coupe mid pipe, I dont want loud either
As for #1 go to everythingg35.com they have the same set up with chargin oil for less than $200.
Good luck and welcome to the forum and G Sedan family

congrats and welcome.
I recommend an auto trans flush and
a new battery..
(if it still has the original). u don't need the optima--pricey, despite the peeps here that own stock in the company
. Spend the $65-$80 bucks and don't wait until it won't start as your heading off to the airport or arriving from a flight after sitting for a few days. Heck, if you don't fly, you could miss an appointment or be late for work. It's best changed at home in your garage, not in front of autozone b/c your battery died in the parking lot like mine.
My 2 cents!
my battery lasted 5 yrs from the in service date
