Question Quite a few questions

Hi all, I was wondering if we had a sticky with as many part numbers with applicable vehicles anywhere on here. I've searched but didn't find anything. Also, my pads need to be changed real soon but I don't know which kind to get. I've read over some post and I think I will stay with OEM since I like the feel of them but the dust does suck a fatty. From what I gather, I either deal with the dust or lose some brake performance? Am I correct? One last thing, how do I know if I have Brembo rotors/calipers or not. I have an 03 sedan and when I looked up pads at everythingG35, they listed pads for standard calipers/rotors and pads for Brembo calipers/rotors. My car does not have the luxury(?) package as far as I know...so is it safe to assume I have standard calipers? Any help is appreciated.

you would know if you had bembo becuase it would say it on the brake caliper. get hawk hps pads, and venture over to the Tech section in the Brake category and you'll find everything you wanted to know about rotors and pads.

Brembos will most likely be Gold in color and say brembo on the caliper. Get Hawk HPS and you will keep the brake performance and less dust.

Thanks for the replies. It looks like I have a non-Brembo setup. I will definately look into the Hawk pads if they are as good as stock. will I have to bed in the pads if I'm not changing the rotors?

You should bed-in the pads whether you change the rotors or not. If you don't change the rotors, you should at least have them machined.

Hawk pads are great. I have them on my 03'.

I have noticed only a slight difference in stopping power..but then again, I'm not racing my car. A night and day difference with the dust!!!!

I don't race my car either. I just like the stopping power...it gives me confidence knowing I can stop when some of the a$$es out here in Vegas don't like to. I will give the Hawk pads a try and the rotors will be machined. Now I just have to find a place to bed the pads? Does the bedding process have to be done as soon as they're installed?

I've heard Hawks have very bad initial bite, some ppl have said it's downright scary when it's raining using the HPS pads. I am in the same boat, thinking about maybe the Axxis Deluxe.

Sedans never came with Brembos so throw that out the window.

Hawks will not have that initial "bite" like OEM setups have but they are a good alternative, especially if you are wanting to loose the dust factor.

FYI, Axxis pads dust alot. Deluxe is less dusty than the Ultimates but both are more dusty than Hawks. Good performance pads tend to dust alot.

Def do a burn in after you get the fresh rotors and new pads.
