I see there is 2 links to modified borla catbacks, just wondering if anyone else has done this? I bought my sedan ewith a full borla on it and it just isnt loud enough and doesnt really have that nice VQ sounds my old sedan had.
So just wondering if anyone else has modified there borla exhaust and how they did it, what did you remove/replace and does anyone have any sound clips? because one of the videos was taken down by the user and the other one has poor sound quality
Thanks everyone, hope someone has done this, if not ill be the first

Debating whether I should take off my muffler, add some piping, and put on stock tips to fool the boys in blue. Might be loud with no resonator on the midpipe though. Anybody know if it will make a difference if there is a pipe in place of the muffler? Here's a vid of how it sounds without a pipe in place of the muffler and no resonator on the midpipe. A bit too loud for my taste.

Right now it's stock with no resonator on midpipe.
Does it have aftermarket cats? If not, are you sure the check engine is because of the exhaust? i haven't heard of anyone having issues with a CEL unless it's been because they've been replaced with HFC's or test pipes, which at that point you can get non-foulers.
yo man i had this done before on my old sedan, i had a HR y-pipe, coupe middy and i took off the muffler. ( not exactly like yours because you removed the midpipe resonater) but anyways, once you create a pipe going from the midpipe to some type of tips going to the back of the car so it "looks like you have a muffler" it will deffinitly quite down the incabin noise. Because i was riding around with open midpipe and the in cabin noise was so loud because the exhaust is coming out litteraly right under you, so once you divery the exhaust to the back of the car, it wont be so loud in the cabin.Originally Posted by The Stimulation

Wondering if I had a pipe going from the midpipe all the way to the back where the tips should be for a muffler it will make any difference in sound rather than having nothing in the muffler area. I just don't want it extremely loud. In case anyone is wondering how loud....Debating whether I should take off my muffler, add some piping, and put on stock tips to fool the boys in blue. I say deffinitly go for it, just buy some tips on ebay of something, and hav an exhaust shop weld the tips to pipeing with a flange on the end to bolt up to the middy and your allset :]

Hey, 2006 g35x with a beaten up y pipe, midpipe is all patched pieces....really sad looking exhaust. Couple of things...
I'm interested in the stillen gen 2 system but it does not look like it has flex points. Does it use spring and donut gasket as a flex point or is there no flex points in stillen system? If it does not have any flex points; has anyone had any issues with it. Also the price is scary...
I seen in another thread that mentioned the M2 Performance G37 08+ Stainless Steel Y Pipe that will work on my car and then I can add any sedan y back system. The M2 looks nearly exactly the same as the megan y pipe which will not work. Has anyone had any experience with the M2 on a G35X AWD model?
Thanks for your time and help guys....

An 8" or 10" glasspack. I ran an 10" glasspack and it added a little more sound than the Coupe mid. There can be some rasp before the car warms up if you give it too much gas, but after 2 min of driving its gone even at WOT.Originally Posted by Nortex

Once I get my differential back in, I'll get some sound clips of before, during, and after re-tune!!

Did some searching but couldn't really find anything out there, but was there ever a NISMO sedan exhaust released. I know some of the coupe guys say it sounds OEM except when you're full throttle then it really sounds mean. I have seen the NISMO headers, but not an exhaust.

Yes there was, its the same as the coupe/350z Y+Mid, but the muffler was designed for the sedan. not worth the $ since it's over $1k for just the muffler and needs to be imported from Japan.Originally Posted by Orbital1
