hey where do all of you guys race? I never really find myself in a position to be able to utilize the idea of having mt. If you are cruising in 5th gear and someone sneaks you to race you are done.
If you are at the track, maybe you are a pro and can out shift the shiftmatic mode...

 

MM has very very very lazy shifts and has a bit more drivetrain loss so yes it is slower even on paper, but a new VB pretty much changes that

 

What ever you do, just watch out for the new Saturn Aura XRs with the 3.6 V6. They will give you a damn run and it is hairline close.

I have a stock 5AT, and i eat up v8 mustangs any time ive raced one.... havent raced much though, but still im happy with my 5AT

Dude u should see what this guy types in all the threads. This is the guy that thinks G35 SEDAN is a G20 with a bigger motor.

 

I get all my races at the strip. I've taken down a couple 99+ 5MT Mustang GTs (mostly stock), a couple mostly stock LT1 F-Bodies, a modded WRX (he only pulled a 2.1 60 foot so I smoked him), quite a few modded late model Hondas, and a couple GS400s. Running 14.3-14.4@98-100mph gives my car the ability to hang with some decently powerful cars. With auto and the right launch technique, it's pretty easy to holeshot many cars, especially those with manual trannies.
