Quote: I don't know, man. A couple years ago, Car & Driver got a 14.4@96mph out of G35X.

I know one thing, I don't worry about Auras, new Malibus, or even the new CTS because they're all higher 14 second rides. On average, my mostly stock G is about .6 seconds quickers and 4 to 5mph faster.
Me and most of us know that every track can yield to different results. I would imagine G35X having more drivtrain loss than 5AT at the same time being heavier than the regular G. High 14 seconds would make more sense for the G35X than mid and low 14 second.

Sooo, having a 5AT IMO is true luxury, making it a luxury-sport car, 6mt would make it a sport-luxury car.

on a side note.. what should the 5AT do... to be able to compete with a 6mt as far as shifting..? grounding kit? pray? buy new car?

I WILL NOT BE SLOW!!

intake manifold, exhaust, tune should put u in that category or slight error my the 6MT driver expecially from start should put the 5AT ahead.

ah phewy. 5ATs are slugs man... they can barely take on a Yugo... really, I saw an AT sedan get smoked by a KIA and I barely beat a Yugo that was misfiring driving on 3 cylinders!

Everyone knows AT sedans are slugs.

For those that ask “how do I make my 5AT Sedan faster”… what I have heard is you need to buy an MT coupe

LMAO at this post!

I know that a prior member that went by the handle ChicagoX got a low 14.5@96mph out of his stock G35X and I've seen a couple others on this site that have gotten 14.6s@94-95mph. Obviously the G35X will be a couple ticks slower due to the weight and drivetrain loss, but it's not as bad as many make it out to be. On average, the X is about .2 and 2mph slower. The biggest problem I see with the mag times is that I've read that most of them state that there is no performance difference between auto and manual mode. It's been my experience that the difference between manual mode and auto is about .3 seconds and 2mph on the same day/track. The mags said my 03 was good for 14.6s@97mph (corrected for conditions too), but mine did 14.3@98mph manually shifting and 14.6s@96mph left in auto. People say there's no skill to racing G/Z autos, but I'd say nay

There should be a difference in manual mode vs auto on this car because u can take into redline resulting going untill full 6600 rpm rev limiter instead of the computer shifting it at 6300 (not on the tach, the actuall RPM). This lets u land on higher RPM for the next gear. I see how autos can benifit from increasing the rev limiter to 7k but i know manuals don't benefit from that at all. I have mine set on 7k but when i shift at 6500 on the tach, I end up getting better times, and higher trap speeds.

Other cars such as IS350 or BMWs don't benefit from the manual mode.

Quote: HOw much did u benefit from stillen vB upgrade/? Kind of thinking about it...
Don't do it. Get a VB upgrade from someone else. I have the Stillen VB and it fixed the 1-2 shift, but 2-3 is dog slow. So slow, I think it will trash my trans within a year.

Not referring to anyone specific, but I love it when someone in an auto says, " I beat (insert car name)."

Noooooo, YOU didn't beat the other car, your CAR beat the other car. Now when someone in a MT wins, then they can say " I beat (insert car name)"
