Don't know if this was asked but I'd figure it would be a great addition to the FAQ as well as giving me an answer. Forgive me but I only did a little half-a$$ed search.

Can the 05 head unit and climate control face be swapped into the 03 without changing the finisher?

Filled out post #10 for 2003-2006 differences. Let me know if I messed up or forgot anything.

Looks good to me Ttrank.

There are some differences in the 04.5 from the 03-04s, as you know, but I think you captured the gist of the differences between the 03-04 and 05-06 timeframes.

Good goin, Tim. You really are the Sedan Man!!

I think I may've asked this before, but I don't remember the answer and I can't find where I asked it:

Are the HID's from 03.5/04 a direct plug-n-play replacement on an 03.0? Are the ballasts self contained, or are they external? What's required to switch to an 03.5/04 HID Headlight?

I ask because cost of doing so seems significantly lower than a DIY. As much as I'd love to have some quad-projectors similar to yours, I can't justify dropping 2k on headlights lol

So HIDs were not even an option? I ask because I have a 2003.0 that has HIDs.

From what I remember being told, the entire dash has to be changed out, and to change the dash, I think everything in the front half of the car has to be changed.

I plan to do an 05/06 interior swap at a later date, mainly for the newer, more plush door panels and much better looking AT shifter.

Thanks

I believe they are a direct plug in. The ballast are external but installed on the bottom of the headlight.

You could always DIY some projectors like I did, it's a lot cheaper.

Did you buy your 03 new with HID's? I always thought they were not even an option but it looks like I may be wrong.

HIDs in the 03s were an option. Premium did. Not sure about the sport versions. Base versions had 16" wheels and cloth interior along with no hids standard

16" wheels!!! Now there's a rare find! I should look for a pair to run DRs on for the track... did they look like the 17" non-sport?

I've heard of cloth interior Gs, but have never seen one... those are rare too.

I wonder how much the 16s weigh?...

I had the same reaction. I suspect the 16s are pretty light. Only the 03-04s could run them because we had the 11.5" rotors. Before I upgraded my brakes I was trying to scope out 16" wheels on blizzaks as an option.
They look ugly has hell though. haha. But for the track, it's about the performance though. For rears, I'd look into the Z32 300zx turbo rear wheels. 16x8.5" I think. Wide and light.

I bet the base sedan was pretty damned light though.

right now I'm running after market rotors, but same size as OEM (the small Altima brakes)... however, I am poised (waiting) for Akebono BBK... It would be a pita to install rear brakes every track day... hmmm 16" OEM track wheels... might be a reason to keep the small brakes

Edit: nvrmnd... the 16s are probably 7" wide : (

Noice! Now I gotta look for someone trying to get rid of yours.

How much did your projector project cost you? I'm a bit scared to mod my only set of headlights is my hinderance.
