NAV hard to see
Anyone else with the NAV system noticed how hard it is to see in daylight? I've gone though all the Brightness and Contrast and it still seems hard to see in daylight.

Re: NAV hard to see
Yeh mine's same. When I first start the car there's no brightness and little contrast. After a few minutes it 'warms' up and is fine. One reason mine is like that is that I don't have the contrast/brightness turned up too high (about half way) so that it doesn't knock my eyes out after warming.
2 daytime settings would be nice.

Re: NAV hard to see
Same thing that "gsedanman" mentions, happened in my case as well. I started the engine during the day, pulled up the nav system and to my total dissapointment, the display looked dead: I could barely see anything at all. After a few intersections, when it warmed up, it looked much better (from very bad to decent !). The night setting is good, no complains there, but the daylight setting could definitely be improved.
In general, I think the navigation system is awesome (even when compared to my previous Acura's, which at first, I thought it was the best). Two things, could make it better, IMHO:
- voice activated (new Accord has it, for example)
- touch-screen (outside voice commands)

Re: NAV hard to see
Thanks everyone, just wanted to be sure I didn't have a problem with mine. It acts the same as all of yours which is slow to brighten up. My BMW never had this problem so must be a different screen type. I also agree that voice and touch screen would be nice.
The other day I was low on gas and it was interesting to see the NAV come up and say Low On Gas select here for nearest gas station. :-)

Re: NAV hard to see
I haven't had any of the "warm up" problems that have been described. Sometimes the day to night switchover feature can get annoying (around dusk), but no complaints.

Re: NAV hard to see
The "warm" up time maybe has to do with the temp outside as it has been really cold here.
