Works 2-3 jobs just to keep up payments on the car. Parents only help when you;re truly screwed.

Knows his parents bought or helped buy it, but still loves it like he worked for it.
That pretty much sums it up. I was a 3 through high school and college. Had a hand-me-down '88 S10 Blazer in high school and got a used '98 Explorer Sport before heading off to college. My brother got the Blazer and totalled it two days later. Once I graduated and got a job, I gave the Explorer to my brother and bought a truck. I took very good care of both of them and was sad to see them go.Originally Posted by 4DGS

I was grateful for both of my vehicles and it showed.

Bought my G35 5AT at age 28, and traded in the car I bought at age 18 (95 Dodge Avenger Coupe V6) for my G35 6MT.
I never, ever had a parent pay for a vehicle, and I paid the insurance premium increase when I was on my parent's plan. The only time I drove a car I didn't own was for 2 months, my brother loaned me his Isuzu Impulse while working a summer job to get money to buy my first car (88 VW Fox) which I drove until I could afford the Avenger.
