Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

Thanks for sharing!
How much time between your two pulls? Your peak numbers are basically the same, but through out the rpm range there's a quite a difference in power.

Thanks

Hey ... not bad at all. Can we see the AF plot as well?

15:1 at what rpm? That's can't be good all the way across the board.

I think your peak hp looks pretty good for stock. Thanks for posting, it kinda helps me out since I don't have a baseline and am curious what my mods added. For comparison sake, here is a couple of runs from my 6mt after stillen cab and catback install.

Wow 230 baseline for a Sedan 6mt is strong! So, what's you're power rating after the Stillen Dual + JWT/Z-tube and ECU?

Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

If you got 230 SAE bone stock, thank your lucky stars, you got one right off the top of the heap! I've been looking at the differences from several dynos and it looks like my cab, z-tube and catback have improved torque rather dramatically but, after posts like this, the jury is still out on just how much hp gain this combo is good for. I can't believe a 10+ hp variation between cars off the production line is common with todays manufacturing controls so I kick myself for not getting a stock baseline done. It IS money well spent.

Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

there has been talk in the past that the 2003.5 6mt's were putting down more power than the 2004 6mt's

Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

Don't forget Dyno variability. That plays AT LEAST as big a part in this as the difference from car to car. If one dyno is 3% low and another is 3% high then that's a 13 HP difference between cars!!

I took my supercharged car to two different dyno shops in the same week and the difference between the two dynos (both SAE corrected, I might add) was a whopping 28 HP.

Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

I hadn't figured on that much variation from machine to machine. My dyno owner/operator said he ran his 300+hp car on his newly purchased dyno at the DynoJet facility, and again after it was delivered and installed back in his shop. He actually made a pretty big deal out of the accuracy of these units and, IIRC, his STD corrected average of 3 runs at each was within 1-2hp. If a dyno requires periodic calibration to maintain accuracy, maybe we should be making a point of asking operators when that was done last.

Re: 03.5 Sedan 6mt Baseline Dyno

Keep in mind that those were variations between different *types* of dyno machines (i.e. DynoJet versus DynoPack).
