has anyone lowered a g35x yet? do they make springs or coilovers for it? anything in the making?
anyone have any issues running stock coupe 18's on a droped sedan?

I'm getting my "x" dropped next week with a set of Eibach's. I'll post any issues that are encountered.

 

Front suspension is different (comes off the FX) so no coilovers or sway bars for that matter. Would be interesting to see a front X shock/spring assembly next to same of a reg sedan to compair demensionally.

ekaz, could you please measure the height of the oem front springs for me when you get your eibachs installed?

He said that he spoke to his rep at Eibach and not to worry about the springs. So, when I go next week, I'll find out the part number.

I'm welcome for what?

 

I had a Rep from Infiniti North America in my car last week. I've been complaining that my shocks are to soft since day one. After a 1/2 hour ride with the rep he agreed. Infiniti is replacing my rear socks. The rep did say the G35 sedan shocks are the same. It is a different front suspension from the FX, but the springs should be the same size. I am very interested in the outcome of the Eibach springs. Hope all goes well.

I knew about the specific Eibach lowering spring application, sorry I should have mentioned that. Eibach does some weird things sometimes in it's applications, so the fact that they have a lowering spring specific to the X is not iron clad prove that the front spring.shock assemblies are truely different, but their's reason to still be carefull. Compairing the two front suspension's while one the car side by side, the front sway bar is proven to be totally different, absolutely no doubt. Continuing the examination left reason to be concerned about the length of the front shocks and springs, that they may be longer. Their's no doubt that shocks from any reg sedan would bolt up. If they are different lengths, that is another matter. That is why I'd like to see a G35X shock/spring assembly next to a regular sedan shock/spring assembly.

ekaz, if you could somehow measure your front shock/spring assembly when the spring installers first pull on off the car? From the center of the bolt hole at the bottom where it mounts to the suspension arm to the top lip of the strut mount, we can know the answer for sure. I just measured a shock/spring assembly in my garage (off the car of course) and it's measure's 26 1/8" tall

ouch that hurts if you have any problems with the install let me know I know Marty is a great guy. if he said don't worry then don't.

How are the other items doing? and I am looking at the end of this month for the pcs you asked about still testing

As for Marty, I have complete faith in him and his advice. After all, you trust him with your car, so that in itself speaks volumes.
The grounding system is just fine, the custom brackets fit peeeeeerfect. Very clean looking.
As for the other stuff....can't wait

ekaz- Once the install is completed please post a list of parts and part numbers. If you don't mind listing the price for the parts, that would be helpful too. I hope all goes well because I would like duplicate the mods and I'm sure I would not be the only person doing this.

Not a problem. I'll post at least most of the requested info once completed. I'm backlogged on postings and reviews. I still have to post my personal review of the ASG grounding system for the G, I want to get pictures of installing the sat. tuner (it seems we all did it but forgot pics)
So, by next weekend, I'll hopefully catch up on all my postings. The springs/wheels/tires will on the top.
