55k,no problems.I may be wrong,but thought I read the Nissan auto is same as used in Frontiers and Titans,or at least very close.I figured if its strong enough for full size trucks,should be able to handle our "little" cars.

^^^ I imagine the Titan has a bigger/better ATF cooler in the radiator (or maybe even external?).

IIRC.. the tranny was used in the Q45.. so our trannies are designed for more hp/tq than our engines can provide, hence the great reliability (at least, longetivity :eeps

^Really? Thats really good to know... But has anybody driven there car on long trips to get a lot of heat soak inside the car???? Every time i drvie a good distance it gets really warm in the car.... Its gets really hot on canyon runs!!! (sorry... didnt mean to jack the thread)

It's been mentioned in a few past threads but our 5AT is one of the most solid and bulletproof in the industry. As long as you maintain the transmission fluid service at its regular interval (2 yrs or 30K miles), you don't need to worry about the 5AT.

My '04 acted up today. It wouldn't upshift from 4 to 5 until it was put in manual mode and done that way. Then the "service engine soon" light came on.

I have an 03 with the auto with 93k miles on it. It shifts great, I was also getting nervous but after reading this thread, I see theres nothing to worry about.

125,000 miles, no problems

210 miles trip every two weeks in temps above 90-100 degrees, no heat soak issues

there have been no major consistent problems across 5AT trannies for the G35
