Chip Upgrade

I am wondering if anyone has any information about chip upgrades appropriate to the G35 sedan?

I guess my real question is I would like to squeeze 20 - 30 more horses out of the vehicle without great cost or causing any undo wear and tear to the car. Does anyone have any ideas? I have recently heard about GAIC chips but have had little luck finding any info. Thanks!

Re: Chip Upgrade

Only one I know of is http://www.technosquareinc.com/.
From what I understand, the gains are more like 10-20 h/p tho.with just the reflash.

Re: Chip Upgrade

for that kind of HP, your best bet is probably high flow cats.

G35S 6MT / ts ecu / 350z springs & struts / jwt popcharger + z-tube / stillen dual exhaust / 6-wire ground kit / soon: kinetix high flow / ssr intake manifold

Re: Chip Upgrade

Gee35,
GIAC and Wetterauer and Neuspeed and some others mainly squeeze that much HP out of turbo charged cars by allowing the boost to get up to one full bar. Naturally aspirated cars don't get nearly the gain from chip mods. Best they can do is remove the speed limiter, change the fuel cut off for redline, and make the mixture more lean at higher RPMs (in the case of the G).

yeah GIAC, wett, Neuspeed, APR and REVO are very popular amongst audi 1.8T drivers. We have a turbo that gets a faster spool and blows more air. The naturally aspirated only seem to get 10-15 extra horses by using chips designed for NA engines. My Audi 1.8T got approximately 32 horses from using a chip alone. The other mods still left me needing speed

Re: Chip Upgrade

If you only had $600 to spend, I wouldn't spend it on the chips. I'd spend it on the cats and/or the intake. If you plan on spending more, sure it's worth it if it's worth a half a grand to you to pick up another couple of horses after 5500 rpm because your mixture isn't overly rich. Or if you plan on doing 160 or revving your engine way past it's power band.

I'm not going to buy it because I can stand being a little rich on the A/F mixture and because I'll never want to do great than 150 or rev it past my useful power band.

Re: Chip Upgrade

Just a clarification - TS offers a reflash per your specific mods, it's not just a chip that you buy and plug in. You have to remove your ECU and ship it to them, they reflash and then return... It is specific to your mods, so it's best to do it after you are done modding.
