I might be a wuss..but RWD + VDC is...
Absolutely amazing..with each time I drive this car... I'm amazed.. having VDC gives you the best of RWD.. no torque steer, higher horsepower, tighter turning radius.. etc.. with VDC giving you the "comfort" of understeer from FWD and having the ability to disable VDC (which I'm not brave enough to do just yet)... This G really is a driving machine... its got just enough lux to go with the go... and there's plenty show too

Try turning it off and do some WOTs from a stop. You will
be able to break traction much easier. I was able to
break traction on takeoff and from first to second gear
with my 5AT. Never turn it off when the roads are wet.

Yup, dont turn it off when its wet, ESPECIALLY when your tires are bald like mine were. Outcome: LUCKY! I just spun out on a turn and went up on a curb, it came to my senses too get new tires and not burn the *@&t outta them. But, you know how those promises go when its summer time . iLLG

Having VDC doesn't eliminate torque steer. Not having uneven half shafts like FWD cars is why RWD cars don't have torque steer. VDC is great for the streets but if you go Autoxing or Road Racing it's a must to turn it off.

Hehe. Yeah, torque steer wouldn't be a problem either way.
Don't be too afraid of the car... they used to make most cars RWD, you know.. with drum brakes and no traction/stability systems. Skid recovery is a valuable skill to have. The VDC system, however, is much faster.. has the car back on the straight-and-narrow before you have a chance to react to the spin.
If there is an autocross venue available to you, try it out. It's a great way to learn the limits of your car safely, and have a really fun time doing it.

Re: I might be a wuss..but RWD + VDC is...
I find myself turning off the VDC about 50% of the time now. With VDC off, I'm able to easily light up the tires through first, chirp second, and chip third. Having VDC off makes for much quicker launches. When it's on, it kicks in when shifting into second gear and bogs the car down.
I've also noticed that if the car isn't completely straight coming out of a turn, it will swing the rear wide very easily when you apply a little too much throttle. I accidentally fishtailed the rear end coming out of a left turn while already in second gear.
This was all on dry pavement. I only switched VDC off once on wet pavement and it was a handful.

Interestingly.. I hadn't gotten my slip light yet (maybe I hadn't driven too hard due to miles) but since I'm gettin up in miles.. I was stopped at a light, and my slip light came on when I accelerated through the turn... and this was with VDC on dry pavement...odd

Look at those muscle cars of the 60s. Huge motors, thin crappy cross-ply tires, no breaks - but what a blast. I think the G is the best modern interpretation of that fun, (turn the VDC off and drive a real live car - not some sanitised shopping cart!!), but with the class and manners that one expects for the other 6 days and enough good manners that it is easily a fabulous daily driver. I love the way the VDC keeps everything under control in poor conditions.
