pulling fuse on the X
pulling fuse on the X
just got a question on pulling the fuse on the X. Are there any down sides to this other than the obvious handling. Would this be more fuel efficient? has anyone tested?
Thanks!!
Thanks!!
If you pull the fuse you still turn the front drive shafts and front diff, etc.
I don't think there would be any advantage to it at all. I don't understand the recent fascination with pulling that fuse, running staggered, etc... just leave it the heck alone.

Sell the X, get a different one, if staggered means that much to you.

Thanks for the input. Im not going staggered, im just wondering if it would be more fuel efficient? I figured its now summertime and I do not need AWD and with these gas prices, just looking to save some cash..
The only thing that could possibly be more fuel efficient is if you disconnected that physical drive shafts, which would throw the computer off anyway. All pulling the AWD sensor fuse as far as I know is fool the computer into thinking that your NOT using AWD. Nothing physical.

The AWD fuse disables the AWD Control module/Solenoid, NOT a sensor.
As far as I know, the car goes into full RWD mode when you are at speed anyway, so why would you pull the fuse? That would just hinder the car when you really need the AWD. Just a thought.
